Pretend you're talking with an air-headed blonde, trying to explain what this government is trying to do, to take away your freedoms. How would you explain to him, that if the Constitution is stripped of the freedoms/rights it guarantees us, life as he knew it, would never include the following....

I am taking this 'desparate' approach, in asking for help. I have a severe problem getting all the replies to long threads to show up. Since this has been going on for almost 4 weeks, I'm at my wit's end.Add to the fact, that I'm not very 'puter literate. When I try to load a long thread, I will get part of the replies. I downloaded netscape, thinking it was IE 5.0 having problems. It has helped some. BUT, I have to hit reload, a gazillion times trying to get the whole thread......I've done the empty the cache thingy, didn't ...

Six lawmakers want state to close unlicensed abortion clinics Thursday, February 17, 2000 BY James Bradshaw Dispatch Statehouse Reporter Six state legislators, spurred by the Cleveland Right to Life organization, asked Ohio Health Director J. Nick Baird yesterday to go to court to close 18 abortion centers, including four in Columbus. The department has been reviewing license applications and holding hearings since inspecting the centers last fall. The Cleveland organization precipitated the inspections with complaints that many of the clinics are not complying with a 1997 law that requires all outpatient surgery facilities to be licensed. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-West ...

After much searching on the 'net, I decided the most logical thing to do is to turn to our Freepers. I've found MANY people who've said that they always vote Democrat, because it's what their family has always done. And their logic, is that 'Democrats are for the poor folks' and 'Republicans are for the rich.' I have heard this a lot throught the years. If it's not cause for a flame war, I'd like to get background info on each party and their EARLY beginnings. What each party originally stood for. And how through the years they've twisted into what ...

"The evidence will show that he had no right,'' Laura Baker, an assistant city attorney, said yesterday in her opening argument in Spingola's trial in Franklin County Municipal Court. The judge is expected to decide today whether Gov. Bob Taft must testify in the trial. Spingola, 44, of ...

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ The first eyewitness to take the stand in the Amadou Diallo murder case backfired on the defense Wednesday when she testified that police officers continued to shoot the unarmed black man after he had fallen to the ground. Defense attorneys had called Schrrie Elliott to the stand, hoping her testimony would support the officers' contention they believed Diallo had pulled a gun. But on cross-examination, Elliott said that she watched from across the street as four plainclothes New York City police officers cornered Diallo and opened fire. "They continued shooting while (Diallo) was down?" asked ...

Flag trial begins today Charles Spingola is charged with ethnic intimidation for tearing down a gay-pride symbol. Monday, February 7, 2000 BY Kevin Mayhood Dispatch Staff Reporter File photo The rainbow flag was flown at the Ohio Statehouse for the first time on June 27, 1999, during Columbus' annual gay-pride march. Charles Spingola and his supporters say the fact that he faces trial for ripping down a gay- pride flag shows how far man's laws have moved away from God's word. But for gay-rights advocates, the trial in Franklin County Municipal Court shows just how far the law has come ...
