I'm starting this thread to counter act the surrender threads currently out there. I wasn't at today's McCain rally in Minnesota. I only see what the MSM packages for me to see, which I suspect was intended to demoralize. I choose not to be demoralized. And I ask that those of you who are going wobbly to stop it. I will still gladly vote for McCain/Palin.

I was in a *boring* meeting, absentmindedly doodling on a scratch pad. I have resisted posting articles about myself, but today hurts so much. I know there are many good folks on FR who have lost a child, and I grieve with you, too. My baby was just 16 years old. She was very bright (finished high school by 14). She was already selected for university. Her demise was kidney failure. She was funny, bright, beautiful, a rare, rare jewel. I have to think that she was so perfect, God needed her with him. But it still hurts. Mr. Peel and I miss her so.

My father, now in his 80s served in WWII as a merchant marine. He sent me the following letter. Just learned that my elder brother has Hepatitis C. He does not do drugs, nor did he have a blood transfusion. The best he can figure is that he got it as a result of dental work. Right now, he's feeling very fatigued. His wife's brother (brother-in-law) also has Hepatitis C (advanced stages) and is given only 5 years to live. This is very unsettling to my brother. PORTLAND — The Casco Bay Bridge is still standing. That's despite a threat that something bad would happen at 12:59 p.m. The bridge over the Fore River between Portland and South Portland was shut down from 12:45 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. because of a threat overheard on a marine radio channel. Portland FBI Supervisor Jim Osterrieder said the Coast Guard overheard someone make a threat on the bridge over VHF Channel 16.
