This is a great video parody based on Michael Jackson's "Beat it" song, entitled "Delete it"; about Ms. Hillary & Bill conspiring to delete her incriminating emails.

I know things are tough out there, folks -- but its got to be even more tough for our wonderful men and women in uniform serving overseas. If you haven't done it before, or time has passed you by (like me, something you've been meaning to do, but haven't) -- make this year to be the year that you resolve to tell a complete stranger how much you appreciate his/her hard work in securing your liberties and freedoms. An e-mail costs nothing, and means everything. Pass on your sunshine to another. Because my feeling is, they really need it now!

Mr. Peel and I are thinking about attending the Tea Party Express in Oklahoma City on November 4 (at 6 pm). We were wondering if any other FReepers plan to be there. I thought this might be a good way for others to share their Tea party plans (which location and time)

I'm starting this thread to counter act the surrender threads currently out there. I wasn't at today's McCain rally in Minnesota. I only see what the MSM packages for me to see, which I suspect was intended to demoralize. I choose not to be demoralized. And I ask that those of you who are going wobbly to stop it. I will still gladly vote for McCain/Palin.
  • Grammar Police Requested

I was in a *boring* meeting, absentmindedly doodling on a scratch pad. I was pretty amazed after the meeting when I noticed that I doodled the following: "I so enjoy discussions like these", she said wielding a bloody axe in her hand. After the meeting, I glanced at my notes and have a serious question: is these appropriate in this context? I mean, should the correct grammar be: "I so enjoy discussions like this", she said wielding a bloody axe in her hand. I mean, isn't discussions a collective and therefore implies a singular? Please set me straight. I am...

I have resisted posting articles about myself, but today hurts so much. I know there are many good folks on FR who have lost a child, and I grieve with you, too. My baby was just 16 years old. She was very bright (finished high school by 14). She was already selected for university. Her demise was kidney failure. She was funny, bright, beautiful, a rare, rare jewel. I have to think that she was so perfect, God needed her with him. But it still hurts. Mr. Peel and I miss her so.
  • Is Microsoft ignoring its own medicine?

SEATTLE: Microsoft promises its software will make people better workers — more productive, more profitable, more able, as the company likes to say, to achieve their potential. Yet some wonder why the software behemoth isn’t taking more of its own medicine. As Microsoft hits 30, critics reel off a list of complaints that sounds like, well, a Microsoft commercial: stifling bureaucracy, frustrating miscommunication, different units working on overlapping technology without adequate cooperation. In short, the very ills promises to cure with its software. Growing pains have delayed products, leaving the door open for Microsoft to be beaten to market by...

My father, now in his 80s served in WWII as a merchant marine. He sent me the following letter. I quote: "I’ve recently learned that on January 4, 2005, Mr. Bob Filner representing District 51 (California), introduced a bill In the House of Representatives to provide benefits to qualified individuals who served in the Merchant Marine during WWII. Since I served in the Merchant Marine for almost four years during the war, I am pleased to learn of Mr. Filner’s effort to acknowledge and make a small reward to our important wartime group. On or after the bill (H.R. 23)...
  • (Vanity) Just learned that my brother has Hepatitis C

    01/25/2005 9:58:04 AM PST · by MrsEmmaPeel · 21 replies · 442+ views
Just learned that my elder brother has Hepatitis C. He does not do drugs, nor did he have a blood transfusion. The best he can figure is that he got it as a result of dental work. Right now, he's feeling very fatigued. His wife's brother (brother-in-law) also has Hepatitis C (advanced stages) and is given only 5 years to live. This is very unsettling to my brother. ANY advice, any one can give would be appreciated. Self help groups ... books to read ... personal experiences ... prayers ... thanks

I received this in an e-mail. I thought it was too good to pass up, and I wanted to share it with all of you. (Love him or hate him, he sure does hit the nail on the head with this one!) To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice that Bill Gates gave about 11 things that they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this sets them up for failure in the real world. Rule...
  • Threat to Portland ME's Casco Bay Bridge

    01/07/2004 11:58:40 AM PST · by MrsEmmaPeel · 54 replies · 383+ views
PORTLAND — The Casco Bay Bridge is still standing. That's despite a threat that something bad would happen at 12:59 p.m. The bridge over the Fore River between Portland and South Portland was shut down from 12:45 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. because of a threat overheard on a marine radio channel. Portland FBI Supervisor Jim Osterrieder said the Coast Guard overheard someone make a threat on the bridge over VHF Channel 16. That happened around 12:30 a.m. and the bridge was closed shortly thereafter. Officials searched the area and the bridge reopened around 6 a.m., in time for the morning...

Adobe Systems announced new versions of its video-editing software Monday, including a Windows-only application that marks another high-profile defection from Apple Computer's Macintosh operating system. Adobe, a specialist in publishing and imaging applications, announced a new version of Premiere, its main application for editing digital video. The new Premiere Pro will work only on PCs running Microsoft's Windows XP operating system, ending years of support for the Mac OS. Meanwhile, Adobe is updating After Effects, its software for adding visual effects to video. After Effects 6.0 will be available in Mac and Windows versions. Adobe also is adding Audition, an...
