Two more staffers for Breitbart have resigned from the company, citing the website's pro-Donald Trump stance. National security correspondent Jordan Schachtel and associate editor Jarrett Stepman sent their resignations to management on Monday afternoon. "The company no longer resembles the ideals that inspired me to start writing for them three years ago. Some of us have been fighting behind the scenes against the party-line Trump propaganda for some time, but without any success, unfortunately," Schachtel said in a statement. "Breitbart News is no longer a journalistic enterprise, but instead, in my opinion, something resembling an unaffiliated media Super PAC for...

Ousted Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich has a new Internet browser, and it's nothing less than you'd expect from the creator of JavaScript and co-founder of the company behind FireFox. Brave is a new browser that aims to "fix the Web." How? By blocking everything except the content you explicitly want. That means no ads, no cookies, nothing that you haven't personally requested from the Internet. The exceptions are extremely specific, and the approach is as aggressive as the ads themselves.

It was in August that Disney CEO Bob Iger warned that ESPN suffered "some subscriber losses," but a regulatory filing late Wednesday indicates a fairly hefty number: 7 million subscribers in two years. Disney disclosed that its most profitable TV asset has 92 million subscribers, down from 95 million a year ago and down from 99 million the year before that.

20-year Houston Astros veteran Craig Biggio was just voted into the MLB Hall of Fame. Biggio spent his entire career in Houston and is one of only 3 players in MLB history with at least 3,000 hits, 250 HRs and 350 steals. He is a 7-time All Star, a 4-time Gold Glove winner, and a 5-time Silver Slugger winner. His #7 jersey is retired in Minute Maid Park and now will hang in the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Congrats Craig!

Sen. John Cornyn criticized President Obama for creating a “human magnet” with his unlawful approach to immigration enforcement, but admitted that Americans had a duty to care for the children that were flooding into the country. “They need to be taken care of, I mean they’ve been left, basically dumped at America’s doorstep, and we need to treat them compassionately we need to make sure they get the care they need,” Cornyn explained to reporters on Capitol Hill on Tuesday afternoon.

Today, I proudly voted to Defund Obamacare, and I am proud that every Senate Republican has united in support of the House-passed Defund Obamacare provision. I only wish that more Senate Democrats, many of whom were responsible for Obamacare’s passage into law, would have voted with us. (NOTE: The amendment to remove the Defund Obamacare provision, which passed the House, was defeated by the Democrat-controlled Senate by a straight party-line vote of 44-54.) With Democrats in control of the Senate, we needed Democrats to join with the American people who want Obamacare stopped in its tracks. Based upon the Democrats...

Barack Obama was elected to a second presidential term Tuesday, defeating Republican Mitt Romney by reassembling the political coalition that boosted him to victory four years ago, and by remaking himself from a hopeful uniter into a determined fighter for middle-class interests.

Dear Fellow Virginians and Americans, I wanted to update you on the appellate ruling in the healthcare case in the 6th Circuit on June 29th. There are a lot of nuances to the ruling, so let's start at the beginning and go through them one at a time. Process Remember that in an ordinary appeal (not to the Supreme Court), three judges sit together to decide the appellate case. There are three appellate courts that have heard appeals of the merits of the healthcare cases: the 4th circuit (including Virginia); the 6th circuit; and the 11th circuit (where 26 of...

WASHINGTON -- Considering that U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint are conservative Upstate Republicans, South Carolina's two senators are anything but a matched set as they increasingly emerge on the national stage. Consider how they spent a recent day in March.

Democrats in Wisconsin say they have enough signatures to file a petition to launch a recall effort against state Sen. Dan Kapanke, one of eight Republicans being targeted for his vote to restrict collective bargaining for most public sector works in the state. Recall organizer Pat Scheller told the La Crosse Tribune that volunteers have collected more than the 15,588 signatures needed to trigger a recall and will file the petition in Madison on Friday.

After a 45-minute closed session, the Old Fort Aldermen voted unanimously Monday to do away with their pay and the mayor’s pay. The action was taken because the town is about to lose its biggest water and sewer customer, Pisgah Yarn & Dyeing. Last month, Jack Lonon Jr., president of the family-owned company, announced that the company’s assets will be sold to Spinrite Yarns of Canada and the plant will soon shut down its manufacturing operations in Old Fort. The closing of Pisgah Yarn & Dyeing will mean the town will no longer get approximately $150,000 in water and sewer...

Within the next few months, Pisgah Yarn & Dyeing will effectively shut down its operations in Old Fort. Jack Lonon Jr., president of the family-owned company, told The McDowell News on Thursday that the company’s assets will be sold to Spinrite Yarns of Canada. The sale will become final on Feb. 25. After that, the future of the business will be uncertain.

The party staged by Andrew Breitbart for GOProud — the gay Republican and conservative group — was as close to a game changer as things get and the most interesting event at CPAC by far, at least to this point — and that’s meant as no insult to CPAC. With sexy Sophie B. Hawkins singing to a boisterous, supportive crowd, the party almost obliterated in one night the conception that Republicans are anti-gay and gave the impression that young libertarians — and some not so young — are taking over the GOP. Pretty soon it may be cool to be...

It's no secret that users of Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Noble's nook digital book readers can "lend" copies of the books they've purchased to friends. But imagine if your universe of friends consisted of millions of people, not just the five or six people in your book club. The lending library suddenly becomes much more interesting. That's what EBookFling wants to create. The site, which officially kicks off Wednesday morning but was up and running Tuesday, ultimately will let users borrow books listed by other members -- for free.

I just stumbled upon this interview which is a few days old. Neil Cavuto interviews Frank Wolf, Republican US Rep. for Virginia's 10th district. It needs to be seen because it's a great illustration of what incoming TEA Partiers are up against with some in the old-guard contingent of GOPers who are circling to protect their power and maintain the status quo. Also, for those in his district, he's looking for feedback on voting to repeal Obamacare on his Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/?sk=nf#!/RepFrankWolf/posts/101877613224158

It’s a stocking stuffer many federal workers in the Capital region have been anticipating for years – the authorization and ability to work for the government from home. On Nov. 18, the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 254-152 adopted the Telework Enhancement Act of 2010, a bill that improves and expands teleworking in federal agencies by requiring them to establish a policy under which eligible government employees are approved to telecommute. The bill also instructs federal agencies to notify their workers of their eligibility to telework, and it establishes a Telework Managing Officer to develop and implement...
