The conflict in Iraq is primarily over, or greatly exacerbated by the high stakes of the oil wealth. Democracy is not enough. If the wealth is "owned" by the government it's Socilism and the competition will be military, because that's the most effective type in this situation. If we give away all the oil wealth to Iraqi individuals there will be little left to fight over; it will empower the people; propel a private based economic growth and change the competition from military to economic and the economy from socialism to free enterprize. So the key word is PRIVATISE.

John Derbyshire just appeared on C-SPAN with Brian. It was absolutely amazing how liberal Democrats hungering for some scrap of intellectual content to bolster their "hate Bush" rhetoric, just ate up everything he said. It shows how intellectually bankrupt they are. I can see some sensible sounding Democrats splitting off from 1/3 of the radicals in their party leaving the radicals as a 3rd party and joining with some liberal Republicans to form a new party with maybe 30-40 % of the electorate to challenge and provide some real opposition to conservative Republicans.

In a couple of hours Carnahan's widow wil say she'll accept the Senate seat from Missouri if offered to her by the Democrat governor. This announcement will dispel the uncertainty surrounding the possible outcomes of the election and give Ashcroft an opponent instead of a phantom to run against. The sympathy factor should wane as the days pass and people compare someone WHO HAS NO RECORD with an experienced politician. Did someone criticize BUSH for lack of experience? I don't know why critics of Al Gore have'nt linked him to John Lovett's Saturday Nite Live character that fibs constantly and makes things up spontaneously as he goes along. They look alike and have the same voice intonations and cadences. Both characters are funny and totally lacking in credibility. Making this connection could be devastating.

This is a followup to tainted blood from Ark. My brother- in law's sister works in a health research dept at McMaster University in Hamilton Ont. Canada.
