I have called The White House and Capitol switchboards to express my grave concern over the treasonous and incompetent actions of Biden. I urged Congress to impeach Biden. Mark Levin and Rush told us to flood the phones when they were trying to push amnesty. It worked. We shut down the switchboards. Let's do it again. Be polite. Be civil. But, that's who we are anyway. Save Our Country! The White House 202-456-1111 The Capitol 202-226-8000 Also email The White House, your senators, and representatives. Call their offices in your state and in DC. Call. Call. Call. I pray that our president is re-elected. I pray that our cities remain safe and free of riots and violence. I pray that we know the results of the election tonight to avoid then court battles. I pray that the patriots in our country will defeat, once and for all, the evil leftists that threaten our being.

I shall never forget the horrors of that sunny, late summer day 16 years ago. My city. My birthplace. My country. Was savagely attacked by an evil and despicable enemy that has now been further emboldened by the cowards in elected office and the biased, propaganda pushing media. I will never forgive nor excuse nor rationalize nor accept that the events of that sad day were justified. There have been multitudes of terrorist attacks all over the world by moslems since that day. As each one occurs, it seems as though we are expected to accept them as a part...
  • Westchester County Executive Vetoes Bill to Protect Illegal Immigrants

    08/17/2017 8:18:54 AM PDT · by NoKoolAidforMe · 12 replies
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 08/16/2017 | Joseph De Avila
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino on Wednesday vetoed legislation aimed at protecting illegal immigrants because he believes it could result in the county being labeled as a sanctuary municipality, risking millions in federal funds. Mr. Astorino said the legislation would jeopardize public safety and cost taxpayers $13 million. “If you end up in our jail for committing a crime, and you’re not here legally, we’re not providing a sanctuary for you,” Mr. Astorino said.
  • AP style change: Singular they is acceptable ‘in limited cases’

For the first time, The Associated Press now permits journalists to use "they" as a singular pronoun. The AP announced the style change Friday at the American Copy Editors Society conference in St. Petersburg, Florida. The change follows years of questions among copy editors, reporters and editors about the use of language specifically about people who are non-binary and don't use gendered pronouns. The change is in effect online and will be in the print edition of the 2017 AP Stylebook on May 31. The new edition includes 200 new and updated entries.

The other day, I was channel surfing in the evening and came across Madonna's Rebel Heart tour video on Showtime. I always felt that Showtime is one of the most liberal cable channels out there, but this programming really epitomized it. I know Madonna has made her career pushing the envelope with the promiscuous sex, blasphemous uses of the crucifix and Catholic icons, and her liberal antics. This concert showed her strutting around the stage with her ass cheeks hanging out. Her female backup dancers were pole dancing on stripper poles that were crosses, and they were wearing what looked...

RYE BROOK - New York Republicans have officially nominated Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino (R) as their candidate in the race for governor. Republicans wrapped up their state party convention Thursday at the Hilton Hotel in Rye Brook after nominating Astorino. Other candidates nominated include Onondaga County Comptroller Bob Antonacci for comptroller and chief of staff to former Gov. George Pataki John Cahill as attorney general. Astorino says his success in Westchester shows he can appeal to all kinds of voters in heavily Democratic New York. In his acceptance speech, Astorino called for hydraulic fracturing for natural gas and the...

I just downloaded IOS 7 on my iPhone, and I cannot stand it. It is draining my battery. I cannot delete messages or voicemails easily. The calendar function is difficult to navigate. I just plain don't like it. I tried to restore a backup, but that only restores contacts and music, not the firmware. Thanks.

New York's gubernatorial race got its first declared GOP candidate on Wednesday in the form of Rob Astorino, the Westchester county executive who announced via Web video that he would challenge Gov. Andrew Cuomo in this year's election. "I'm tired of listening to the fairy tale that everything is just great when it's just the opposite. I'm tired of watching New York's decline," Mr. Astorino said in the six-and-a-half minute video. Mr. Astorino, 46 years old, emerged as a likely contender after winning re-election in November in heavily Democratic Westchester with 56% of the vote. The former radio host, however,...

Although much attention was focused on the elections on Tuesday of decidedly left-of-center Democrats in Boston and New York City, little reported was the major gain of Republicans in two Northeastern states long considered "no man's land" for the GOP. Republicans took considerable new ground in contests for city halls and county offices in New York and Connecticut. In New York, Republicans re-elected county executives in Westchester and Nassau Counties, captured the mayoralty in Binghamton and a majority of the county legislature in Erie County for the first time since 1977, and won a special election for the state Assembly...

The head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said Congress must seize on a "once-in-a-generation" chance to pass comprehensive immigration reform when it comes back from its August recess next week. Writing in the New York Daily News, Timothy Dolan, who is also archbishop of New York, invoked Pope Francis and Martin Luther King, Jr. in arguing that immigration reform would help families and the economy while improving the country's security.

Westchester lawmakers actually put aside partisan infighting and election-year politicking when they joined together in a fight against the federal government over funding it pulled from the county. The Board of Legislators on Monday agreed to back County Executive Rob Astorino in a proposed lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development over $7.4 million the agency stripped from the county because of differing interpretations of the 2009 affordable housing settlement. It's about time the two branches came together in this ongoing standoff. And it's the right thing to do for the county. In approving legal action, Westchester's...

Yesterday at mass, a man came in with two girls (both of an age where each could stand and speak on their own.) ten minues after the liturgy began. He stood along the side aisle wearing shorts, an advertisement tee shirt, and sneakers and leaned one foot against the wall of the church while standing. There were seats available. When we stood for the gospel, he then decided to sit down. He did not pray with the girls nor follow along with the missal. He held one girl up for the entire mass, talking throughout with her feet on the...

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A seemingly endless debate over politics, religion and territory is coming to a train station near you. An explosive ad about Israel is now igniting a firestorm of controversy. The display shows shrinking Palestinian territory in Israel over the years and refers to 4.7 million Palestinians there as refugees. The ads are appearing in 50 Metro-North stations. At the train station in White Plains, the politically-charged ad was raising eyebrows. “That’s quite amazing if you ask me,” one man told CBS 2′s Scott Rapoport. Some Jewish leaders said they were concerned. “I think the ad...

Hello FReepers, I am looking for links or articles involving the elections for Al Franken and Dino Rossi and the allegations of voter fraud. I am sure that I remember reading that in at least one county in MN, there were more ballots cast than were registered voters. Dino Rossi also lost an election to Christine Gregoire under similar circumstances. Any other voter fraud articles that would support the need for showing ID to vote would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Religious leaders are calling on Mayor Michael Bloomberg to reverse course and offer clergy a role in the ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Rudy Washington, a deputy mayor in former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's administration, said he's outraged. Mr. Washington organized an interfaith ceremony at Yankee Stadium shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. "This is America, and to have a memorial service where there's no prayer, this appears to be insanity to me," said Mr. Washington, who has suffered severe medical problems connected to the time he spent at Ground Zero....

If state and local governments are ever to get their budget deficits under control, they absolutely must address spending. The issue here is simply one of affordability. Westchester County has a skilled and dedicated work force that provides quality service 365 days a year. Unfortunately, the county can no longer afford it. It's too expensive -- in large measure because of union-contract-dictated health-care and pension packages that are beyond the wildest dreams of private-sector workers. Next year, the average cost of a Westchester County worker will be $117,000. The scariest part is that fringe benefits -- mostly health care and...
