When I heard that Bill Clinton was making as much as $500,000 per speech and made many more millions in his post-presidency, I thought to myself, God bless him. This is the American way. Former President Clinton’s speaker fees are probably in line with other former presidents who draw big fees, maybe bigger owing to his global popularity. But God bless them all. If memory serves me correctly - there was a news clip in the early part of the Obama term where he addressed the lack of bipartisan support for health care. He said something to the effect "We won - you lost, get over it". I have been searching for the clip and cannot find anything. Was this my imagination - does anyone else recall this event? ... Please help an old man with his memory ... ;-)

CONSIDERING TWO DIFFERENT WORLD LEADERS THE PROPHET MOHAMMED Mohammed was born of humble origins around A. D. 570 in Mecca into the Koreish (Quraysh) tribe, custodians of the religious sanctuary in Mecca, the Kaaba. Mohammed was married at age 25 to a wealthy widow, Khadija. From her he had one surviving daughter, Fatima, the mother of all those descended from him. Mohammed was often seen in solitude, for he was a thoughtful contemplative. In one of these contemplative times (at age 40 in A.D. 610) in a cave outside of Mecca, called Hera, Mohammed heard a voice he believed ...

Saudi terrorist Osama bin Laden is responsible for today's terrorist attacks in the United States, according to a senior US official and former prime minister Ehud Barak. The ruling Taliban regime in Afghanistan, where Bin Laden is believed to be based, condemned the attacks. It said Bin Laden could not be responsible for the attacks, saying they were beyond his capabilities. Early today in the US, four hijacked commercial airliners crashed into both towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Pittsburgh. Estimates of casualties range as high as more than 10,000. Hamas denied any connection to the ...

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Hillary Rodham Clinton's identification with Eleanor Roosevelt has taken on a new dimension in her choice of top campaign adviser. Harold M. Ickes enjoys an even closer communion with the Roosevelt years -- his father was FDR's hard-charging interior secretary and, in many ways, his enforcer. Like father, like son. The son, loyal, combative and at times perhaps a little over the edge, is devoting his energies to getting the first lady into the Senate. His father had tried to persuade Franklin Roosevelt's wife to take the same course but she declined. Rising from the caldron ...
