Does anyone else find the Michael Bolton Honda commercials as annoying as I do? When they come on, I either mute the TV or change the channel. If I were in the narket for a new car, Honda is the last place I'd go thanks to those commercials.

I have to say, I’m disappointed and a little concerned by the reaction of some of my freeper friends to the Sandusky / Penn State scandal. Full disclosure: I graduated from PSU in 1970. Am not a member of the Alumni Association, have been back for, maybe, 5 games since 1970. Very much on the periphery of all things Penn State. For the class of ‘70, the JoPa phenomenon (“JoPa” hadn’t even been coined, yet.) hadn’t materialized. Nevertheless, living in Pennsylvania, one could hardly be oblivious to the success of the football team or Paterno’s philosophy. We were happy to...
  • Chris Wallace nailed it (quite by accident, I'm sure)

    Sunday morning Fox
Yesterday morning on Fox, Chris Wallace was being interviewed about the SC results. The discussuion turned to the effects of the debates and whether Romney would agree to more debates than are already scheduled. Wallace said something to the effect: Gingrich is so much better a debater, Romney would be a fool to agree to fight on his turf, to reach across the aisle, so to speak. I can't remember Wallace's exact words, but my reaction was: that's why we can't nominate him ---- because he WOULD BE foolish enough, if elected, to govern from the dems turf. I'm sure...

Does anyone know if Graham Spanier was, in fact, fired, or was he allowed to resign? I've seen allusions to him being allowed to resign, but it hasn't been spelled out. Cite source if possible. Thanks

When something as awful and seemingly inexplicable as what’s going on at Penn State happens, I find myself asking God, “What’s going on, here? What is the lesson we are supposed to learn?” As an alumna, I truly don’t believe Joe Paterno is evil. Joe’s freshman year as head coach was my freshman year as a student. I’ve been watching him (granted, from afar) for 45 years. In all those years his actions underscored his philosophy and his belief system. Could all that have been a half century ruse to hide a monster? Is he perfect? No. Is respecting him...
