Why would a country at war with islamic terrorists, indiscriminately import thousands of potential problems? Why would that SAME country also allow a porous, if not inviting, border for 'potentially hostile refugees' on the southern border while keeping the northern border hypersecure from people of a historical alliance? You can't solve a problem till there IS a problem, and it's way easier to solve if you created the problem. Remember Rahm, “never let a serious crises go to waste” Fast & furious and the porous southern border/importation of muslim refugees. It seems to be the same strategy of creating a...

As a registered Conservative, I ask myself the same thing....why do I vote Republican? The RNC treatment of successful Conservative challengers in the recent primary, confirms the wisdom of leaving the Republican party. When Republican really means 'Democrat Light', there is no sense in voting Republican. I would rather have a full time enemy (Democrats) than a part time friend (Republicans). Go back to the Conservative roots, that are the foundation of the Republicans.....and I will come back. Till then GFL, with your plan - see you in November.

My Bi Polar Leadership Where is the health care for the leaders of my reality challenged country? My head spins when I contemplate the many positions my elected, appointed, anointed and sometimes indicted, government officials take on issues basic to most Americans. Our government mandates health care for all, while ignoring it's own tumorous legislative inconsistencies. At what point do we call them out? "Legislators, heal thy self!" Security......(the original intent of my rant) On the northern border, our (unintentionally Orwellian) Homeland Security, over screens known, documented, US passport carrying citizens....pretending to be guarding the country.......while our southern border is...

What an interesting experience it has been trying to leave comments at the GOP website. http://www.gop.com/ Almost like dealing with the GOP for real, shouting into the wind. Your website allows almost no feedback except to comment on 'Problems with this page?" THIS is the only way to leave Feedback? WTF? Too focused on your own political futures to listen to those who could support you? I joined your website only to express my dismay with your choice of candidate for the NY 23 District. This type of candidate is why I left the Republican party 30 years ago, and...

While we are outraged by toys coated in toxic chemicals, and unsettled by reports of tainted Chinese ‘farm fish’, there is a stunning lack of interest in China polluting our already foul election process. No one seems too concerned about the influence of illegal Chinese funding in our government. Chinese money is the bigger issue for our children, for if it is allowed to go unchecked, foreign nationals will control our destiny. Where is the outrage? Where is our government? Where are the investigations? As tragic as a few children getting ill or dieing from Chinese toys is, the prospect...

32 Dead in VA massacre by South Korean maniac. My heart, and prayers go out to the families and friends of those injured or killed in the Virginia Tech shootings. A great loss, for no reason. One flawed man destroyed so many lives, and impacted far more, because he was sick….and he was evil. He needs to be called that, evil. So that it can be identified as such, and recognized. And dealt with properly in the future. I cringe as I watch the anti-gun ghouls gloat over the victims of this atrocity, and pimp their political agenda like some...

    Spectator UK | Peter Jones
from The Spectator (UK) Ancient and Modern by Peter Jones The government ardently denies that its proposal to allow 24-hour drinking will lead to streets filled with drunks. It then legislates to, er, deal with streets filled with drunks. Nothing could more perfectly exemplify Plato’s brilliant image of law-makers as people ‘slashing away at a kind of Hydra’ — the many-headed monster which grew two heads for every one chopped off. In his Republic, Plato (429–347 bc) argues that it is the mark of a badly governed society to need constant rafts of legislation. He likens such societies to the...

(2003-01-19) -- Police across the nation estimate the crowd that avoided yesterday's anti-war demonstrations at about 289 million. Americans from coast-to-coast voted in absentia against criticizing the Bush administration for Iraq's failure to comply with U.N. resolutions. Anti-anti-war demonstrators gathered in grocery stores, shopping malls and private homes to proclaim their disagreement with protestors marching in the streets of Washington D.C. and San Francisco. "Going about my regular Saturday routine is my way of saying I disagree with the radical left-wing agenda of the anti-Bush crowd," said college student Melanie Sampson, who spent the day preparing a term paper for...

from a thread on DU concerning Judicial appointments.... 30. Twenty More years of Conservative Judges...the Supreme is next. These Judges are really where the power to influence the nation resides. Judges who arent free to think for themselves and are bound to a rigid document will usher the dark ages back into the country. This really was our Alamo. We can appoint whoever we want to run the minority or the DNC or anything else...without having any type of hold on the Judical branch of government...it is all window dressing. This has been the worst two years of my life...and...

Prince Philip jokes about the blind and the anorexic Thu May 2, 2:36 PM ET By JANE WARDELL, Associated Press Writer LONDON - Gaffe-prone Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II (news - web sites), told a joke about people with eating disorders and the blind on Thursday that seemed to surprise a crowd at a public appearance. Philip was visiting Exeter Cathedral with his wife as part of her Golden Jubilee tour of Britain when he spotted blind woman Susan Edwards and her guide dog in the crowd waiting for the royal visitors. "Do you know they have...

Welcome to No Tax Back! We're putting our money where our mouth is! Welcome to No Tax Back, a non-partisan grass roots organization dedicated to fighting tax relief. We're proud to pay our fair share of taxes, and strongly oppose the Bush Administration's trillion dollar tax cut. This is money that could be used to fund valuable social services, like Head Start, free school lunches, free prescription drugs, and Social Security. If anything, this administration should be RAISING taxes, not lowering them! The need is just too great! This shameless trillion dollar give away won't be enough to really help ...

TWO LITTLE WORDS Off-Budget As everybody knows, from the moment you wake up to the last thing before bed, we pay taxes. We pay taxes on our money when we earn it, spend it, secure it, release it – everyday in everyway, we are taxed. In the nineteen sixties, women were actually taxed out of the home just to pay the taxman and the final insult: we are, yet again, taxed when we marry and taxed when we die. The government tells us it needs our money for every damned ‘entitlement’ to arise in the mind of the tyrant and ...

It’s interesting that the impetus for the WWII Memorial comes from the boomer generation and not the actual Veterans of that conflict. Honoring the efforts of our military has never seemed too important until now, as our benefactors fade before our eyes. Never time to listen to their stories or appreciate their sacrifice, when they wanted to share. Now, their voices become faint echos….and too little… too late….we build a monument to our apathy….a tribute to our lost opportunity to learn from their experience. I can’t help but feel that the Veterans of WWII, might be more honored if ...

The Chinese defiance of International law, and general common sense has a certain Clintonian Consistency, as they seek to justify their unlawful seizure of our aircraft and crew, with the “Big Lie” so favored by the our past President. Understandable, given their 8 years of increasingly bold purchase of our technology, in exchange for ‘political contributions’. The problem is, they are not as adept at lying, nor as likeable as Mr. Clinton. The Chinese are swimming in unfamiliar water here, President Bush being a WOG (Western Oriented Gentleman) and apparently NOT subject to monetary persuasion. More difficult to persuade, ...

While reading Richard Feynman’s collected essays and speeches, it dawned on me that his critical review of the scientific method, and it’s affect upon progress, applied nicely to our ‘un-scientific’ political situation….pgobrien “There are big schools of reading methods and mathematic methods, and so forth, but if you notice, you’ll see the reading scores keep going down – or hardly going up – in spite of the fact that we continually use these same people to improve the methods.
