It was a beautiful spring evening just after work and I was walking the few blocks to where my car was parked. I noticed a gentleman that I had met just a week or so prior, on a previous hike out to our parked cars. The first time we met he was walking with another acquaintance of mine and we barley exchanged names, but at least I knew I had met him before. This time would be different.

The other day I was listening to my local classic rock station. The Billy Joel classic, Only The Good Die Young came on and of course I was singing along with it. You know it’s a catchy tune, and I don’t listen to the lyrics so it doesn’t affect me blah blah blah… OK, but this time I was listening and the lyrics did affect me. I was thinking what are the results of living the life that he was lambasting? And, what are the results of the lifestyle that Billy Joel was advocating in the song?

On my radio show today, I addressed the topic of military “counter-recruiters.” You know what military recruiters are—the people who go to high schools and colleges and tell young people about their opportunities to serve their country in the military. Well, now there are also “counter-recruiters” who go to these schools and tell young people why they shouldn’t serve their country in the military.

When I began reading the “Seeds Of Deception” by Georgiana Preskar, I was immediately turned off by the alarming, panicky tone that is evident in her chapters. I jumped to the conclusion that she was over reacting to subjects being taught to our children in our schools. Who wouldn’t want their children to learn how to accept others, respect their difference, not be bullies and get along with everyone? Boy was I wrong!
