Free Republic

I gave up satellite TV over a year ago now. I get all my news either here, Drudge Report, Breitbart, or my local newspaper has a webpage, as the local TV station,for local news. The wife and I do more things together, We hardly miss the few channels we used to watch some, such as the History channel, Discovery. We were paying over $100 a month to "fund the enemy". Network news,like many posters here have commented, has become nothing but a propaganda tool. Let them preach to their choir, I say. What do others here at FR think?

I have my retirement in insurance company annuities. The interest income is (has been ) tax free. What can I do with it to protect it. The additional interest rate it generates there is no longer as important as saving what I have. Do I need to move it into something else? Is there anywhere else I can move it and retain it's tax free interest(till I take it out) status? I fear we are in for a very rough economic ride now. I am only a couple of years away from retirement.
