In talking with an elderly couple about all the places they need to change their address, they said they already voted. Said they got a card in mail to come vote early in the usual place. Early voting in Texas starts Oct 13!

We heard last night that obama had signed EO banning the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in all schools. Is this a hoax? is it true? I tried searching, but haven't had any luck here on FR.

I am about to be named my brother's Power of Atty. His daughter is handling things now, but has run against a brick wall. He is to be discharged from a nursing home after recovering from a concussion. He will be going directly to an assisted living facility. Before the hospita/nursing home visit, he was getting his meds at the VA for free. His daughter was told today that they will not fill prescriptions from any doctor not related to the VA hospital in Dallas. That HE must come there to see a doctor and then get his prescriptions filled...

While filling up our car today, the guy in the lane next to us saw my "1-20-2013...or sooner God willing..." bumper sticker. I'm sitting in the car while my hubbie is pumping gas. I can see the guy take notice and take a couple of steps and then retreat and then he walks to the rear of our car. He says: "I get the "1-20-2013, but the "God willing" part is negative." We will be traveling to Texas and hope to be returning with a firearm or two. Does anyone know the law about crossing several state lines with a gun in your trunk? This would be from TX to NY. Just exercising our 2nd Amendment rights to own... will not seek concealed carry in NY as it is too restictive - just want one at home. (Course NY is wanting to restrict purchase of ammo now - via registering purchases so they will know what kind of gun you have that you are buying ammo for.)
