Nah... it’s just a little sake ... now on tuesday I’ll have the scotch... still haven’t decided if it’s a shot per state or just for swing states... :)

AU - I’m with you, I think PA and MN could be a too close to call, but I feel like the rest may just be the election folks trying to keep their dime knowing it’s a blow out.... still there are stupid people in the world and I do worry the gene pool (as the 3rd law of thermodynamics would indicate) is getting worse.

I see MI/PA/MN too close to call, NC no challenge, FL/VA early call, OH only held for effect, IA and CO go to Mitt - the early voting has been in Mitt’s favor and from the signs I’ve seen (and I drive an hour one way each day around cleveland) it doesn’t indicate any obama fever at all. That all being said my Hoosier homeland returns to it’s Republican nature very early at closing.

and the answer is if your drinking and posting be proud - unlike our politicians at least everyone will nod wisely and understand :)

I’m more upbeat and don’t believe it will be nearly this close - in fact I believe that New York and New Jersey may be in play.

Yes I’ve been drinking, but I’ve been thinking about the impact of this storm and firmly believe it will change the way that things could progress in those states.

I also think that things are much more likely to go our way early in a number of the states - yes the alphabet media will not be inclined to report it, but if the SOSs put their numbers out on their websites they won’t be able to suppress it. I have a strange feeling that the one maine district may be the first real indicator - if that goes to Mitt then it’ll be a quick/short night no matter what the “calls” are.

    But again...I’ve been drinking :)

sorry if it seems I’m nitpicking but it’s “indivisible” not “divisible” - one means we can’t be divided the other that we can.

Zippy is often hard to interpret - he hides things in double and triple meanings. In this case I think he’s bashing Obama, believe it or not... though that would almost be sacrilege to a liberal. I read it as the baby is something new he hasn’t seen before - that showed up to tell him the country is going to heck in a hand basket in a way he’s used to understanding. The baby says as they walk away that he and his attitude leave IF Romney is elected - to me this means the country will be better off if the company is elected.

Now I’m likely putting my own feelings and thoughts into the thing - which is where Zipsters always been at his best... again the double/triple meanings ... still if he’s even considering this side of the coin it tells me obama is in really deep doo-doo.

well aware of both the part 11 software issues/regs with the FDA and the engineers who can’t say “when”, but I’ve worked manufacturing, quality, and New products with lots of change management (including software) and while there is always “room for improvement” there are plenty of release revisions/version cutoffs since it has to get to market some time - and updates are already in the plan for the version already out when it is released the first time...

One of the ‘great’ things of regulated industries is that you are never done as continual improvement is actually required and lack of resources is not an acceptable excuse, though risk assessment/categorization is. In this case it would not be a mandated update due to risk, but a feature upgrade/nice to have that could be incorporated in the next scheduled upgrade/mandatory safety upate.

I thought they had something like this before with a CO2 cartridge that dropped the temp on a beverage can when it was broken/released...it was something of a fad for about 2 months but the cost/price wasn’t worth it so it died a quick death. Maybe they’ve found a better (cheaper) way?

When my wife went through her breast cancer, both she and the doc got frustrated with me. Her because I was buying medical texts to learn more and the doc because I was reading papers that he hadn’t had a chance to yet so wasn’t able to answer my questions readily and he said it made him feel kinda useless. I kept doing what I was doing, but just kept it to myself after he finally threw up his hands. We got along fine after that. Wife is going on 7 years post-op with no signs of remission...so it all worked out.

But I know what you mean about some people just being sheep. There were a number of those in the waiting room all the time, similar to the way some people expect to be taken care of financially, etc.

Having worked med devices the last 12 years I can definitively state that it will cost a minor amount of investment to provide a limited access hook to allow his data without the proprietary device info as both are currently already hooked. Say one engineer for 2 weeks at most (and he/she would spend most time on other projects anyway).

Production cost would not be impacted since it would be a matter of the firmware version being uploaded being swapped out.

Bigger issue would be for those already implanted where firmware can’t be “swapped”. In that case they fall back on - sorry real time access isn’t currently available, but here is the access for your data once it has been downloaded and interpreted. Doctor’s notes aren’t required to be provided with a patients records as I understand so the mfgrs info would not be covered either and can be removed, and patient records aren’t required to be provided real time - only ‘within a reasonably alloted time’. So.... While he has a right to the data he doesn’t have a right to real time data if it wasn’t a feature originally in the device. He doesn’t get MRI pics, blood results, or othe r such items same day so,,,

If this is part of his doctors records then by law he is already allowed to see it. The official records are part of the doctors practice and required to be maintained by the doctor, but the patient is legally required to be provided a copy.

Even the Navy has to provide a copy of their medical records to the service member upon request. yes he may have to pay for the cost of generating the copy, but he has a right to the information.

My personal preference would be a party that focuses on Liberty and that each man or woman as adults are capable of deciding for themselves how best to live their lives. While there are troubling libertarian aspects to this - I refuse to throw the baby out with the bathwater due to a few people worried about how they can get their next high on. If the United States stands for anything it must be Liberty, for without it we are all merely cogs to be ground perpetually together with no end.

that’s what I’m hearing as well, but nothing - including the west stuff is finalized and I could see Newt considering it still...My bigger question is around the thought of Newt only doing one term - does anyone think that might be the case?

ok I have a question related to Newt’s VP pick. Given that he is in his mid/late 60s does anyone think that he might be lining up whoever he picks for the run after only 4 years in office? I wouldn’t put it past him to think along these lines and believe for that reason alone that he may actually pick Palin, BUT I only give that 60-70% odds right now.

    Your thoughts?

True, but the geographic makeup is different so the waves of a smaller quake in the Midwest can cause just as much or more damage as a larger one in cali - and they tend to travel farther as there aren’t as many zones to break things up.

One of the reasons the Big madrid fault quake around Missouri in the 1800s rang bells in Boston.
