The terror networks are run by Arabs, and Arab states are conspiring to use WMD. Zawahari calaims to have an arsenal of suitcase nukes. Now Syria may have conspired to continue the WMD progreams from Iraq. The US Government has policy for retaliation against WMD strikes governing Russian and Chinese weapons. A good question for Bush and Kerry is: does the US have a retaliation policy for the Arab Mideast. So far the Bathist Arabs would appear to be on the bottom of the list for escaping retaliation.

The Kurds are a bit like Poland. Poland was partitioned out of existence, and then put back on the map after WW I. But, a critical difference is that Poland was dismembered by conservative neighbors that were horrified by the actions of the French people against the ancient regime. Like the USA and France, Poland embraced a constitutional form of government and was therefore considered very liberal. However, The Kurds have one neighbor - Turkey - that is modern by Islamic standards. Turkey is secular, and the Kurds are secular. In the long run this common value may aid the situation between these two neighbors.

Freedom. What you gonna do with it. Jesus says have courage. Right now we have much power over Iraq and especially prisoners. The answer is for the Iraqi people to manage their own soveriegn nation. Evil and temptation will always be here. The abu graib scandal just highlights how remarkable it is that the world's greatest superpower has enough leadership to destroy Saddam Hussein and to turn over power to the local Iraqis.

First, the USA is now interested in hitting the foreign element in Fallujah. That strategy enhances the war on terror in the minds of those who support Iraq as a legitimate threat and in the minds of those who question the larger scope of the war that includes Iraq. Second, the USA now wants to leave Iraq better than when we found it. Can we do this and not blow Fallujah off the map? A Bathists general thinks he can secure Fallujah. It looks like we give the Bathisits a security presence and they help hand over the foreigners.

The existing bathists are only a problem if they won't rule Iraq along with the other ethnic and religious groups. We turn over power to the transitional government. Either the Iraqis create a sovereign state, or Iraq becomes the next Agfhanistan. The perception of America will be: we can work with you like we did with Germany and Japan and maybe Afghanistan, or we can destroy you any time we like. The perception will not favor the foreigners. This article focuses on the strength opon the perception of others on the terrorist. Only WMD can enhance the terrorist perception on the mass of people. That is why our government needs a policy that assures the Arab world and all observers that a WMD strike on the USA, especially from suitcase nukes, will result in a nuclear retaliation on the Arab Mideast. We already have policies that call for retaliation against Russians, Chinese and once Japanese.

Maybe this particular use of Sarin is a foul up in insurgent operations, but it might be telling us that the stockpile of old WMD is out of its deep storage and is being deployed just in time to upstage some part of the transition time period.

The latest allegations came from the New Yorker magazine, which said abuses resulted from a secret plan approved by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld for tougher interrogation methods in the U.S. "war on terror." Citing current and former U.S. intelligence officials, the report said tougher questioning was part of a plan giving prior approval to kill, capture or interrogate terrorist leaders.

I think the whole world new that we planned interrogation that would be effective whether or not it satisfied the international agreements that arose because of the need to deal with standing armies rather the threats from sleeper cells, terrorists and WMD. No one is denying that we learned some lessons along the way. The most important lesson is that Iraq will be better off as a sovereign state with its own security and related prison systems.

The next time Greenspan uses the excuse of wage inflation to hike interest rates, you can thank programs like this. One quote from the article said that the government has many hard working employees - that's the problem. Those resources need to be deployed in the private sector. And, I am not talking about early retirement for 55 year old bureaucrats.

It would complete the al-Qaeda strategy begun on September 11: to lure America into battle, wait for diplomatic wrangling and political in-fighting to weaken the West's resolve, and then enjoy the spoils of the new, disfigured geopolitical landscape. It is hard to think of a greater triumph for bin Laden than the retreat of America from Iraq: he and his jihadi comrades could claim to have driven the Soviet Union from Afghanistan and the US from Iraq, an unprecedented defeat for two superpowers by a theocratic guerrilla force.

Are you kidding... Have you seen the condition of Afghanistan... No one really thinks of victory when they look at the condition of Afghanistan after the USSR pulled out its troops. Yes, the condition has improved since the coalition helped to root out the Taliban and its Arab supporters. Still, there is not much to cheer about for the Islamic world. As far as Iraq, our mission is reaching its end. A transitional government will take over, a sovereign nation will step out from the rule of Saddam Hussein, and a role for the United Nations will materialize. I only wish we could have located every liter of WMD. The prisoner abuse scandal proves that Iraq is better off as a sovereign nation. It also shows that the mystery of evil is ever on it's prowl. Neither Christian or Muslim cultures or immune from evil. Our correct response to the scandal is a sense of humility - but not defeat. We have courage because we are taught by the Son of God to be strong in the fight against evil.

Israel and the USA will line up against the Arab world. The Arab world will be destroyed when we decide its time. Unrest in the Russian border lands can be contained with Russian help. The Chinese may play a card of their own - who knows? I suspect NATO will be interested in air superirity over a large portion of the Muslim world. Nigeria and the rest of Africa will wind down as the other major muslim populations are pacified.
