For a little background. This is a lady who was married to a popular TV newsman and used the hyphen in her name to play on that association to be elected to the city council where she was widely thought to be the most ineffectural council member not to mention annoying to the other council members by constantly feeling the need to give her perspective as a doctor.
If this is the best the GOP came up with im MY district, I'm amazed!! Nick Lampson will make an awful congressman for my district but with Sekula-Gibbs as an oppponent he should be be booking his tickets back to Washington.

I have CNN Int'l and Euronews on my channels in Russia. It is disgusting to see the CNN clowns constantly bash American and Israel. You see lots of rockets take off from Lebanon but you rarely see the result in Israel. I get so sick of hearing about all the women and children killed by the IDF, you'd think it was a nation or women and children. Maybe it is, certainly the little terrorists are down deep in their holes. But I will say this, if you can't see what Hezbullah does to your country then you deserve to have your house bombed every few years.

I am constantly amazed at what escapes the obvious. If 6 bucks keeps kids from getting an education in Kenya, why in the heck don't they allow kids to wear whatever they can to school. A million bucks would have saved the lives of 166,000 girls, but put some lame researchers out of a cushy job.

Last night on Larry King President Bush said he'd rather be right than popular but he seems to have missed a chance to do what is not only right but the law. Protecting our borders from illegal border crossings. He also stated previously we can't make illegal aliens who live here, work hard and raise a family go back to their country of origin. He didn't give any reasons why we can't deport them but we just ... can't. Bullhockey!!
Stop business from hiring illegal aliens by any means, they too are breaking the law.
Send as many as you can back and I love the idea of taking them deeper into Mexico so it's harder than just turning around and walking back in. If they want to immigrate let them do it the right way, thousands all over the would are waiting to do it right.

There is one of the real problems, it's not just your dime. Your dime gets you a voice in the conversation and you should use it! Find out what really goes on in Libraries, it will startle you. My wife has run out bums and homeless who want to use the place for a shower and bed, called the police on parents who dump their kids there for hours so they can go shopping and think the Library is a babysitter and the list goes on and on. I'm glad the porn issue is being discussed so people will become engaged and active in the problems of a Public library. They are many.

Please don't just give half a quote that supports your position when obviously the remainder addresses real problems. We DO NOT have to convert the world where any child can walk in anywhere. There should be places for children and places for adults, and I don't mean porn but not everything is about children.

Please don't imply that Librarians are complicit in allowing people to view porn on the internet. I'm married to a Librarian and you should here what they have to put up with and how the issue of censorship is dealt with all over this nation. Yes it is censorship to tell someone in a public library not to view porn on the internet. You can buy porn mags at the local 7-11 what are you doing about that? Libraries work hard to keep the library a safe place for all people to enjoy. But there is a large segment of the population that uses them for everything from a mini-hotel to free office space to looking at porn. Quit running them down and address it to the Library Board or City Council and get some rules/laws enacted to limit the availability of computers that can be used to view porn.

Tom Delay was my Representative, I voted for him and his leadership was plain to see. Anyone who inspires the kind of hatred demostrated by the dumb-o-rats has to be doing something good for the people of this country.

They were certainly imaginative in the way they got access, you got to give them that! If she spent 1 minute thinking about the use of fur in her clothing line then it was money well spent. And it was in NO WAY stalking. You confront the people with whom you have the issues and they have done a lot of that. Several designers have stopped using fur as they all should IMHO. And lastly, I don't think you can speak as to what they believe for a certainty. Give any opinion you like, just don't make it out to be a fact!!

Well, this is certainly an enlightend thread. I happen to be one of those oddities who is both conservative and an animal rights activist. I find the vitrol on this thread interesting since the anger and insults appear way over the top of what I normally see on this site. It appears someone who can take a stand for animals is much more of a threat to you folks that a liberal, wow, hard to believe. So if eating meat and wearing fur is one of your God given rights and you are unwilling or unable to allow for a different viewpoint then pity you. But as one of the posters wrote, I love to stir you closed minded types up too.

The Chicks are DEAD in country music and have been for a couple of years. Didn't hear from them until they put a new album together and wanted to make a splash being controversial again. They couldn't get air time on Country stations in Texas at gunpoint. Several stations have run polls and it works out about 5 to 1 against ever playing their music again. Let's hope rock and roll can save them from obscurity. You can say anything you want but just be prepared to live with the result!
