Did I really just hear Geraldo refer to New Orleans, as The Big Hard? Or is it just my imagination?

Just saw the video for the first time. I wasn't sure if it was a joke, or if it was real! The guy has an accent that sounds English or Australian. He rants in such a goofy way that it reminded me of the Peoples Judean Front vs the People's Front of Judea. I really thought for a moment it was a Python sketch! Watching this on O'Reilly just now, I expected to see the guy's arm come off at any given moment and quarts of tomato juice to come squirting out! "Your arm's off!" "Tis but a scratch!" "You're...

Dilemma of the day OK, here's your dilemma of the day: You are the President of the United States. You've just learned that there is an asteroid headed for France that will completely wipe out their entire country. It is scheduled to hit about 2:30 a.m. in just two days from now. You have enough ships and military personnel nearby that can help evacuate their people safely, but they are on stand-by supporting the war with Iraq. Your question: do you set the VCR to record the asteroid hitting France, or do you stay up to watch it live?

Check out this amazing petition which was created by a woman in Canada that got tired of hearing all the negative banter about America in this war. She got sick and tired of it, put up this petition, and it is getting enough hits to be on the top 5 at petitions online.

My nephew Christopher, age 4, in Michigan is very ill. He has been dehydrated and vomiting, and now they suspect a bowel obstruction. He is on his way by helo to Grand Rapids (from their home in Grayling) and my brother and his wife are driving down (about a 2 hour trip, bet they make it in considerably less.) Please pray for safe travel, and for the skill of the doctors to determine the correct course of treatment! God Bless the helicopter pilot and personnel, and the healthcare workers taking care of Chris! God Bless Chris and make him well.

Who can help me explain to my mom that the pictures she emailed me that are supposedly from an Israeli satellite and supposedly show the Space Shuttle Columbia exploding in space... have to be a scam? Anyone else seen this? I don't know how to post pics here or I would show them to you.

This is my assessment, however elementary it may be, of how a reasonable person ought to respond to the folks who say they honestly feel we need more information or "proof" of Iraq's connection to UBL before we strike Iraq preemptively. (I don't have an answer for anyone who refuses to believe Iraq has WMD, because it is obvious to any rational mind that they have had them in the past and are very unlikely to have destroyed them. These people are beyond my help.) As to the connection to UBL, either A or B is true: A. Iraq has...

My nine year old son Brandon and I went on a Cub Scout campout last weekend with our Webelos Den (4th graders) and the rest of the cub scout pack we belong to. The evening on Saturday ended with a traditional campfire. After the usual skits and fun, we had the opportunity to do a "permanent" retirement ceremony for the U.S. Flag. The flag was unfolded and carried around the campfire so all could see that it was worn and faded, having served its purpose. Readings about respecting the flag and proper disposal of a worn flag were presented to...

Just saw the video of the traffic stop on Sept. 9 involving one of the 9/11 hijackers. On top of everything else, I noticed in the trooper's car the radio was on and the song that was playing was Lonestar's "Already There". I just downloaded it and listened to it. This may just become the anthem for all the rescue workers lost in the attacks and the resuce attempts. Did anyone else hear this, or was it only on my TV?

My resolution for 2002: NEVER AGAIN LISTEN TO A DIET AD ON THE RADIO. I am getting sick and tired of the Body Solutions claim that if you take a tablespoon of their stuff at bedtime ON AN EMPTY STOMACH 3 HOURS AFTER YOUR LAST MEAL you will magically lose weight. I think it's that "empty stomach" thing, more than their dubious product. I made the comment to my husband, if I could go to bed 3 hours after my last meal on an empty stomach, I could have a Godiva chocolate every night, and still lose weight! It's those ...

Did anyone else catch Fox coverage this morning of the ridiculous and irrelevant meeting held by the New Black Panthers? Their leader stood at the podium saying "blaming Bin Laden is not the problem" and he held up a picture of Bush and said, "we blame Bush". What the he** are they thinking? Can anyone help me understand what these folks are trying to do? If you're not for us, you're against us, and these people were sounding downright unAmerican.

Published Monday, October 8, 2001 White powder mailed to 2 households The 13 people hospitalized allowed to go home. BY GAIL EPSTEIN NIEVES and ELAINE DE VALLE gepstein@herald.com A pair of apparent biohazard scares sent eight residents and five firefighters to hospitals for observation Sunday after two families in Hialeah reported receiving mysterious envelopes containing a white powder. Authorities said the incidents appeared to be related, but the diagnosis came only at day's end after a host of fire, hospital and public health officials treated the events as the ``worst-case scenario'' terror attacks for which they train. ``That's a sick ...

George W. Bush This was the same man who came within a hair's breadth of losing an election in November, who withstood the political chicanery of the Florida Democratic machine to fix the vote count. This was the same man who admitted to having a drinking problem in younger years, and whose happy-go-lucky lifestyle led him to mediocre grades in college and an ill-fated oil venture. This was the same man who mangled syntax even more than his father, and whose speaking missteps became known as "Bushisms." And on Friday, this was the man who bore the weight of the ...

Americans' opinions differ on flying the flag By MARTIN MILLER and GINA PICCALO Los Angeles Times Earl Katz marched on Washington to protest the Vietnam War in the 1960s. The 59-year-old philanthropist even raised funds for a Jane Fonda documentary in which more than 100 American war veterans confessed to atrocities in the Southeast Asian conflict. The day after the hijacker attacks on New York and outside Washington, he raised an American flag outside his home in Marina del Rey, a seaside suburb in Los Angeles County. "I was a patriot then and I'm a patriot now," Katz said. "The ...
