ELKO, Nev. - Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter stood out at a Newmont mine site Monday in his suit, tie and loafers. This was appropriate since standing out is what many believe Hunter must do to make it past the Republican caucus scheduled Jan. 19 in Nevada. He was at the site as part of a tour of northern Nevada that included stops in Elko, Carlin, Battle Mountain, Winnemucca and Lovelock. At the mine site, the congressman from Southern California ate lunch, answered employees' questions and toured a quarry, where he turned the tables and asked questions about the gold...

Another fine post about the rally in Modesto. SNIP: This morning in Modesto we had a very intimate rally and there were some very touching moments I have to tell you about. The crowd was not as massive as in other places; I counted about 30 people at the very beginning of it. What amazed me was that the rally was at 0800 hours instead of the usually 0900 that we hold most of the morning rallies. I expected turnout to be horrible because of the early time, but to my amazement I saw a big group of at least...

I’ve had the privilege of spending most of the last 2 weeks (and will continue that privilege next week) with the one candidate who is the most qualified to be the next President of the United States – Duncan Hunter! It’s been busier than I ever imagined – he never seems to run out of energy, always has as smile and a handshake for anyone and everyone, and takes the time to answer every question from the audience. As...
