In Sept. 2008, Roger Fisher said that he was happy to receive the publicity for the song "Barracuda", co-written with the Wilson sisters from Heart, which was being used by the McCain/Palin campaign. The Wilson sisters said that "Sarah Palin's views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women." Roger told Reuters back then that he pledged to give part of the royalties from the song's use by McCain/Palin campaign to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama's campaign. I wonder if he and the Wilson sisters feel the same way about Barack Obama these days...

I was listening to 630 WMAL on my car radio this evening on my way back home from DC, and the top-of-the-hour newsguy (Mark Weaver, I think) was talking about the horrific scene at the Lululemon Athletica store, where a 27-year-old employee, Brittany Norwood, killed a 30-year-old employee, Jayna Murray, on March 11, 2011. Ms. Murray had discovered that Ms. Norwood had stolen items from the store. Detectives from the Montgomery Co. Police Dept. have said that it's one of the most horrible and gruesome crime scenes that they've EVER seen, and Ms. Norwood said that they had both been...

WMAL did not terminate Fred Grandy's employment, and never had any intention to do so. Fred informed us on March 2 of his intention to resign from the station. To be clear, at no time has WMAL told Fred that he was not allowed to discuss his views on Islam over the air. In fact, he has done so on numerous occasions. Further, WMAL has not been contacted by any organization seeking to restrict his broadcasts. Bryan Nehman continues to anchor our morning program and in the interim will be joined by several notable guest hosts and regular contributors. WMAL...

Those inside the Beltway know Fred Grandy’s cheerful bright morning talk on WMAL-AM. Those outside the beltway know him as a Congressman, Gopher or star of the Monster Squad. But he somehow offended the thin sensibilities of the Council of American Islamic Relations, enough to get yanked off the air. WMAL has a reputation for caving to this group. They did the same thing to Boston talker Michael Graham when he was at WMAL. www.630wmal.com

I'll never forget the "Breaking News" logo from ABC News coming across my TV screen as I was watching Wheel of Fortune with my grandma on 12/21/88 at about 7:15pm ET.

And on the morning after, Chris Plante didn't rest. There was no time for that. Not when there was so much crowing to do. Conservatively speaking, a radio host on the rise "We're singing and a-singing!" trilled Plante, starting off his daily talk show on WMAL-AM on Wednesday to the strains of the gospel-pop tune "Oh Happy Day." "The citizens of our great land, the taxpayers, the voters have spoken. And now the question: What is the message they just delivered?" Never shy with an opinion, Plante quickly offered his own answer: "Solid results in the House. Some mixed results...

As she opens her 25th and final season on her very successful talk show career, I can't help but wonder if Oprah feels "used" or "duped" by Barack Obama. Since we are witnesses to the most disastrous administration in the United States since Jimmy Carter, I wonder what Oprah thinks about Barack Obama and Michelle and whether or not she should've still endorsed him back in 2008.

Bryan Nehman of "The Grandy Group" on 630 WMAL (Washington, DC) mentioned this morning that perhaps a reality show should be created in order to depict and get together the moderate Muslims alongside the more radical band and see how they "work out" their differences (much like 'Big Brother' or 'Biggest Loser', etc.) What should we name this hypothetical 'reality show'?

OXON HILL, Md. - It's a decades-old rumor few attending this weekend's Beatles tribute festival at National Harbor have any doubt putting to rest: is Paul McCartney dead? Their uniform answer is no! And yet, a new documentary that had its worldwide premiere at the festival Friday claims McCartney died in a car crash in 1966. "They had covered up the death at the behest of her Majesty's government and the British intelligence service, MI5," said the documentary's director Joel Gilbert. He says the British government was "afraid there would be a rash of suicides worldwide if Paul McCartney's death...

SALISBURY, Md. -- A gunshot shattered a glass door Wednesday at a Salisbury office of the Maryland Republican Party, according to a party statement. The party published the statement on its website, indicating that a single gunshot shattered the front door at the office early in the morning. Salisbury police officers discovered the shattered glass after midnight and reported that the office had been vandalized. The statement indicated that a party staffer found a bullet in the office. If you have any information regarding this continuing investigation, contact Salisbury police by dialing 410-548-3165.
