  • Trump signs order rolling back climate rules (Winning!)

    03/28/2017 1:07:00 PM PDT · 3 of 25
    S.O.L. to pabianice

Since the Globe didn’t complain, I assume we lost. Here is an extract from an article by James Dillingpole on Breitbart:

“Scott Pruitt, head of the Environmental Protection Agency, is more interested in building his political career than he is taking on the Green Blob, insiders report.

Pruitt is also said to be behind attempts to remove at least one of the key phrases from the president’s long-awaited Executive Order on the environment.

It concerns a proposal to repeal the EPA’s Endangerment Finding on CO2 (the disastrous, unscientific, job-killing ruling introduced during the Obama Administration, which rebranded the harmless trace gas Carbon Dioxide as a dangerous substance).

If Pruitt is successful and this clause is removed from the Executive Order it will represent a major setback for President Trump’s war with the Climate Industrial Complex. It may also put into jeopardy the promises Trump made on the campaign trail to scrap “any regulation that is outdated, unnecessary, bad for workers, or contrary to the national interest.”

“This is the president’s one shot at winning this battle,” an ally in the EPA camp warns. “It’s like the French heavy cavalry at Agincourt: lose momentum and he’s going to get stuck in the mud being shot to pieces by the English longbows.”

Obama was right but for the wrong reason. It was not that FOX indoctrinated the stupid, deplorable gun/bible clingers who frequent bars that were too stupid to understand how great Killery was and how racists Trump was, but rather because those people were smart enough to know they did not want to watch fake news, like CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC. (Not that FOX is now that much better as since Ruppie’s sons took over it’s gone way downhill.)

Fortunately I live in MA so I will NOT be voting for Romney as it will make no difference. I guess if I were in a swing state I would hold my nose.

The Ron Paul delegates still have to vote for Romney on the first ballot, but this is still got to be very embarrassing to a complacent, ill organized Romney campaign and indicative of the general lack of enthusiasm for him even in his home state.
  • House passes CISPA bill (internet security)

    http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120426/14505718671/insanity-cispa-just-got-way-worse-then-passed-rushed-vote.shtml
    . . .

Basically this {Quayle’s amendment} means CISPA can no longer be called a cybersecurity bill at all. The government would be able to search information it collects under CISPA for the purposes of investigating American citizens with complete immunity from all privacy protections as long as they can claim someone committed a “cybersecurity crime”. Basically it says the 4th Amendment does not apply online, at all. Moreover, the government could do whatever it wants with the data as long as it can claim that someone was in danger of bodily harm, or that children were somehow threatened—again, notwithstanding absolutely any other law that would normally limit the government’s power.
    . . .
CISPA is now a completely unsupportable bill that rewrites (and effectively eliminates) all privacy laws for any situation that involves a computer. Far from the defense against malevolent foreign entities that the bill was described as by its authors, it is now an explicit attack on the freedoms of every American.

You have not sufficiently recovered from being a Democrat.

    This is Tea Party loss.

Yes, others lost too. The Lefties will get their tax increases when the Bush tax cut extensions expire and they don’t really care if medicare doctors don’t get paid or not. They get to cripple our national security. They get to to tag the “winning” Tea Party with the coming credit rating downgrade and ensuing interest rate hike.

Read the article. Don’t read the article. Who cares? Just wait and see. Words are cheap. Sometimes words mean something. Soemtimes they don’t. But actions speak louder than words.

Maybe Boehner is crazy like a fox. Can you imagine the media for the next two years if instead he had said he was going to grab for much more power than Pelosi had and tried to scr3w the Dems more than she scr3wed the Pubbies? Hopefully in this respect he’ll be like a Democrat and say one thing and do another.

Anyway there is much to do. More than one person can manage. So he needs to delegate. My problem is with some of those to whom he will be delegating, such as Fred Upton.

But let’s not forget that Reagan delegated a lot and that worked out reasonably well.

Oh, and another thing. Neither conservatives, nor TEA Partiers alone got him elected.

He is absolutely correct about that.

There are not enough of us here. He was also elected by moderates (and probably some liberals) as he is a moderate.

While I would like him to vote 100% conservative I knew we would never get that. He may rightly think he may owe his other voters some votes especially as he is a moderate as we all knew going in.

Unlike many RINOs who don’t support mildly conservative nominees or who openly subvert them, Brown wholeheartedly supported an “ultra” conservative candidate for congress. If he meets the Reagan 80% threshold, appropriately modified for the bluest state, he deserves return support.

Brown caught the Dems napping. Coakley ran a poor campaign. Brown got support from all over the country because everyone thought he could kill Obamacare.

None of this will happen in 2012.

I am a TEA Partier but it is not popular in MA. If there is a third TEA Party candidate in the general election, we will lose the seat to Deval Patrick, Vicki Kennedy, or the like.

Sorry to inform you but a TEA Party candidate cannot win statewide in MA either as an independent or a GOP candidate. We couldn’t even get one elected in the open seat in the 10th which is the most conservative district in MA. The only way one could win is if they won a Democratic primary, but that isn’t going to happen either.

Between now and re-election if Brown votes 70% or so with the Republicans we need to support him for re-election, otherwise in 2013 we will get 0% votes from the DEM. If 0% is better than 70%, then continue to attack Brown. (I do reserve my right to change my mind if Brown meets the 70% threshold, but votes for amnesty, crap and tax, card check or other sea change legislation.)

    S.O.L. to GOPsterinMA

I voted for Brown for three reasons: 1) send a message and 2) try to block Obamacare, 3) avoid a far greater evil. Most MA conservative knew he was not a true conservative and that a true conservative would not have won. He did 1 and 3 and tried hard for 2. I wish he would have voted differently on some bills (especially financial reform) but his votes were not unexpected.

I am a TEA Partier and have been a social and fiscal conservative all my life (starting as ME co-chair of Youth for Goldwater). I will be supporting Scott Brown for re-election because of his support for Jeff Perry, the only candidate who had a decent shot at congress. Jeff is as conservative as I am, and far, far to the right of Scott, but Scott supported him 100%. I have no use for RINO’s who do not support conservatives even if they meet Reagan’s 80% voting threshold. Because Scott is in Massachusetts I will accept less than 80% as whatever it is, it will be better than 0%.

Sean Bielat is a nice guy and I wanted so bad for him to win, but realistically he had no chance and that may be part of the reason for Scott’s late support.

I think Scott understands that next time he will not be unique. Money poured in from all over the country and not just from TEA Partiers. TEA Party approval in Ma is an abysmal 13% and most of that is probably part of the equally small Republican registration. Scott was elected by much more than just a minuscule MA TEA party. Re-election will be vastly different as he will be one of many running and the Dems have awoken in MA and will be going all out.

All elected reps have to do things with an eye to getting re-elected - which is going to be next to impossible for Scott in MA. So all you anti-Browners, be prepared for Vicki Kennedy, or if you’re a mite luckier, Steven Lynch.

Jeff Perry (running for the open 10th congressional) is both a social and fiscal conservative. He is endorsed by the National Right to Life and does not hide his position.

Latest public poll has him up 45 to 43. There are also three independents in the race: one moonbat and two Dems recently turned independent.
