  • NBC visit to White House a Home Run for Bush

I concur. The program was all you could want it to be. I could not believe Tom Brokaw and company could deliver a fair and honest piece. It does make you feel like the White House has decent, honest, intelligent adults in charge. Such a relief from the past eight years. I got the feeling the White House was being run by honest, decent, intelligent adults and that it was being run like a well oiled business for the benefit of the people. I would have to give the Media an A for this one.
  • NAACP to 'patrol' South Carolina borders

Someone should print up pre addressed envelopes with the NAACP national office address and distribute to businesses in South Carolina. The preprinted envelopes should be distributed to various businesses in South Carolina. The envelopes should be given to each tourist customer in SC so the customer can mail their receipts back to the NAACP as proof of their support for South Carolina. A letter could also be included.

It would be interesting as to how the NAACP would react if they received thousands of envelopes with receipts enclosed showing purchases in SC. Appropriate statements about the NAACP could be printed on the outside of the envelope as well.

The only thing that would really stimulate our economy would be to force the multinational corporations to bring back to the United States all those jobs they have moved to cheap-labor foreign countries.

This problem would solve itself if we reformed our tax system and replaced the Income Tax with a National Retail Sales Tax. A study by Congressman Bill Archer indicated that if the sales tax replaced the income tax, eighty percent of the corporations located in Europe would return to the USA. Also, a large percentage of the European corporations would be willing to open plants in the USA. This would bring back all of those jobs we have shipped out of the country.

Do you have any information as to pay if any given to these people on the commission. What exactly are they supposed to accomplish.

I wastched the sham they called hearings in Florida. That was ridiculous. How long has Berry been on the commission and how do we get rid of her. As well as the commission.

To Jim Rob, Grandpa, Bad Joe and all who helped get the funds up to 104%. Great Job. It is good news to learn that we do, infact have that many members who will step up to the plate as needed. I contribute $10 per month by credit card. I wish I could make it more, but at least it is constant. Fantastic Job. Some Americans really do care.

Free is a word that has grown to be meaningless. There is no such thing. All of our planet has a cost associated with it and if that cost is not born by those using the asset the asset dies.

Far too many people believe they are getting something for free. Ultimately, if the asset they are using is not paid for by the users, it is paid for by someone else. Those doing the paying will have an agenda. It may or may not be the agenda you want. It may not be the agenda you believe you are getting.

I contribute $10 per month now out of a very meager income. In addition I have contributed additional sums when Jim (backed up by others whom I trust) have called for it. To foolishly think I shoud have the services free is silly. I recommend that we push hard to get at least 3000 members to contribute $10 per month by credit card or check. Larger contributions can be made if one wishes to support even greater programs.

If that does not work, Jim will have only three choices - close down - sell to someone with their agenda - reduce services and charge per month anyway.

Some on this thread have offered to buy the business from Jim. Why? They have a vision they think it can be made into a moneymaker. Why else would anyone give the time and effort that Jim has done unless he had a real mission. This is not a money making prospect. And it never will be.

I vote for keeping Free Republic and helping Jim fund the endeavor. If it goes any other way I shall drop out because it will be a dead option.

Thanks Jim for asking for ideas and suggestions. That is the sign of a very mature man. Personally, I thank you for what you do. FreeRepublic is a very valuable tool.

I do wish there were fewer posters bashing others on the line. There is not much you can do about that, but it does not add to our credibility.

My only comment of change would be that I can not spend every minute of the day on FreeRepublic. Therefore, when I come on I may have missed some good postings. Is there a way to sort of review what has been posted? I realize that you have the search engine, but I can not search a topic of which I know nothing about. You use the sidebar effectively, but I still feel I miss some things that I would like to read.

Again, thanks for a tremendous job well done. Thanks for whatever improvements you make.

Looks like the children know how to handle peanutbutter and jelly sandwishes. They are the ones that should get the bulk of the aid anyhow. I say we should quit being so critical. How many of us would do any better?
  • Should Conservatives Support Rudeness? Why booing Senator Clinton is beneath us.

What information do you have that all of those booing Hilliary Clinton are necessarily conservatives. I suspect that many of those in attendance voted for her last November.

The firemen, policemen, emt personel etc. were booing her for the improper place for her to be with her normal clap-trap. Supposedly, the event was for them.

I doubt that silence would send much of a meaning. The media as well as elected officials are in an extreme coverup for anything wrong with the Clinton Administration. I think that is a bad thing for the country.

If we do not deal with the many errant actions taken by Bill Clinton how will we know not to allow them to be done in the future. That is my concern. The TV Media will not talk. The Print Media will not record. The Politician is hiding in fear. The Beauracrat does not want the truth known.

As usual, We The People, are left out.

We should all write to the senator and demand that all members of the Clinton/Gore commission as well as Clinton and Gore should be subpoened for the hearing to explain why the recommendations of the commisson were not heeded and implemented, as well as why Clinton/Gore sold out for $500,000 of Airline Political Contributions? When the truth is verified then Clinton and Gore should stand trial as culable for the World Trade Center attack.
