VILLA RICA, Ga. - Parents of a Villa Rica teenager are preparing to bury their son Friday afternoon, and they still don’t know how he died. They say not knowing what happened is the hardest part about his death. Jarred Wright, 19, was found dead in his bedroom. His family had been on a camping trip, but Jarred stayed behind because of work. Wright called his mother Saturday to complain of what he thought was a stomach bug. “I said, ‘I love you,’ and he said, ‘I love you too, mom,’” Julie Wright said. Jarred Wright was a 2017 graduate...

Four men remained in Douglas County Jail without bail Monday, charged with the Saturday night murder of a Douglasville teen by “stomping, kicking and punching him to death,” according to Sheriff Phil Miller. The victim, Bobby Maurice Tillman, 18, died of massive head and chest injuries, said Coroner Randy Daniel. Tillman was still alive when deputies arrived on the scene around midnight. They administered CPR, but Tillman died before he could be transported to the hospital, Daniel said. The four suspects appeared at an initial hearing before Superior Court Judge Robert James Monday morning and were denied bond. They were...

Marilyn Haas called her husband a soldier who died with secrets. Roland Haas, a self-described CIA assassin, accidentally killed himself last Saturday in Newnan, according to authorities. Roland Haas, who died at age 58, once described his work as "the dirtiest end of a dirty business." He wrote a 2007 memoir that some praised as a gritty, realistic account of Cold War spying. Others called him a fraud.

If you're looking for a way to kill Little League, you should call a woman named Jean Gonzalez of Staten Island, N.Y. I think she's found it. A little more than five years ago her 12-year-old son, Martin, got a hit and the first-base coach waved him on to second. The problem was, Martin did not generally get many doubles. In fact, he'd never slid in a game before. So when he got to second, he slid clumsily, wrenching his knee, ripping his ACL and tearing his meniscus. So what did his mom do? She sued.

I'm going to install 1 GB ram in a friends computer. He currently has 512 mb. Can I leave the 512 installed with the 1MB, or do I need to take it out. I was under the impression that both RAMS would have to be the same. Thanks in advance.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Famed Appalachian moonshiner Marvin “Popcorn” Sutton, whose incorrigible bootlegging ways were as out of step with modern times as his hillbilly beard and overalls, took his own life rather than go to prison for making white lightning, his widow says. “He couldn’t go to prison. His mind would just not accept it. … So I credit the federal government for my husband being dead, I really do,” Pam Sutton told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday from the couple’s home in the Parrottsville community, about 50 miles east of Knoxville.

I doubt many in our military deserve leave more than Army First Sgt. Mike McGuire, who is deep into his second long tour in Iraq, overseeing a platoon of men hunting Improvised Explosive Devices on the most dangerous roads in the country. I am so pleased he'll be coming home to the States -- to Missouri, his home, and then to a ceremony in western Pennsylvania honoring the memory of fallen comrade Allan Bevington, and then to Walter Reed Army Medical Center to visit a wounded man in his platoon, Nick Koulchar. McGuire e-mailed the other day to say: "Getting...
