  • WHY DOES PETER STRZOK WANT TO TALK TO HOUSE COMMITTEE?

First to answer the inevitable question as to why Peter Strzok is still employed by the FBI. Because Inspectors General, in this case Michael Horowitz, cannot "interview" former employees, only current ones, and the IG isn't done with Agent Strzok just yet. Why doesn't Strzok just resign, as others have? Because he is negotiating with Horowitz/Huber (Sessions?) as to how long he may be in prison, and he still has information which, at least in the mind of Strzok, has more value than Horowitz/Huber esteem it to have. What might this information be? Is it just not valuable? Unlikely but...

Tomorrow the tarheels of UNC will play th Hokies of Va Tech. My son died at the age of 43 in July of this year. He was a big North Carolina fan. For the last 12 years, or so, he and his circle of friends who were Hokie fans all, would travel from Lynchburg to Blacksburg for the game.... Including his wife, who loved him and misses him very much. I am so thankful for her, she was a Hokie fan and he was a Tarheel fan. This was the wayi it was. Sports fans, you understand this. He left...

  • MOHAMED "BARRY", OR MOHAMED BARRE?

What else are they not telling us about Mohamed Barry? Yesterday in Columbus Ohio, a Somali immigrant walked into a restaurant, asked "where the owner was from", and, having been told the owner was from Israel, went back to his car, re-entered the restaurant, and began machete-hacking patrons. Four were injured, and later Mohamed Barry was chased down, and after attempts to subdue him with tasers, police shot him dead. Mohamed "Barry". My first thought was that this is a strange last name for a Somali. So I googled and found that there's a famous Somali former ruler named Mohamed...

While the GOP establishment--that would be Karl Rove, National Review, Charles Krauthammer, The Weekly Standard, Fox News, on and on--cannot entertain the thought of a Donald Trump presidency, they are equally thoughtless as to why he's so popular among conservatives. The consistently failed predictions of Trump's demise are rivaled in futility perhaps only by the enviro-nut forecasts of planetary doom perpetrated by a harmless gas. They've been mystified from the get-go about what for them is Trump's inexplicable appeal. They're clearly looking in the wrong places in order to figure him out. Brain dead? Of some 500,000 votes cast yesterday...

Once again, in last night's Republican debate, we witness the spectacle of an obviously biased performance by the moderators at CNBC. I'm pretty sure no one on the right side of the political spectrum is surprised at this, except maybe the RNC, but many of us probably still don't understand how leftist media keeps its hold on the news. Or so much of it, as is still the case. After years of clinging to the claim of objectivity, it seems the major left-leaning outlets, both broadcast and print, have "come out", and are no longer attempting to hide their bias...
  • Former president Saleh proposing peace initiative to end fighting in Yemen: sources

    04/13/2015 7:52:21 AM PDT · by wayoverontheright
Cairo, Sana’a and Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat—In the latest sign of his growing rift with the Iran-backed Shi’ite Houthi movement, ousted former Yemeni president Ali Abdullah Saleh is proposing a peace initiative to stop the fighting in the country, sources told Asharq Al-Awsat on Saturday. Saleh, who was ousted in 2012 after mass protests against his more than three decade rule, initially backed the Houthi coup in Yemen in February and their takeover of the capital Sana’a in September. Saleh allegedly helped ease the advance of the movement’s militias across the country, via elements in the Yemeni military and security establishments...

Should the Republicans impeach Barack Obama or not? There are good arguments on both sides of the question. Perhaps we should change the question. The question should be, when are the Democrats going to realize it’s in their own best interest to pay him a visit and ask him to step down, or to change course a bit? I’m speaking not so much of the Democratic Party's spineless politicians, but the party's donors, the monied backers, most of whom are paying up for protection and buying favors. Will protection and favors be there if the Democratic Party loses power? If...

Why we will win: Yesterday while walking to my car after dinner at a local restaurant, I saw a Toyota Prius parked in one of two handicap parking spaces. In Virginia, to park in a handicap spot, you must have either a special license plate with the wheelchair symbol, or a blue placard hanging on the rearview mirror. The Prius had neither. But the vehicle did have two bumper stickers, one saying “Obama 2012”, and another saying “I Love Obamacare”. I am 64 years old, and my knees are gone. I refuse to park in a handicap spot because I...

Can you feel it? The wave, that is. I speak of one that will wash away far more than just a failed presidency. This wave will have the torque to rock the entire liberal bubble -- the political/media/crony bubble -- leaving it forever exposed. Ironically, those inside this bubble will be the last to know -- which is precisely why it will happen. Those who would rule over us, and insult us with outrage over Big Bird, academic debate-scoring, "binders" memes, and specious jobs statistics know nothing about us. This includes those inside the bubble who purport to represent our...

It is high-time we stop allowing the left to paint our economic policies as faith in “trickle-down” economics. To begin with, it is pure projection, as the liberal way of managing the economy is the way that truly places faith in the so-called trickle down effect. If one compares the effect on the economy of permanent tax cuts, versus the effect on the economy of government stimulus, the difference is predictable. Permanent income tax cuts, like the 20% cuts Romney proposes, don’t “go” to anyone, they “stay” in the hands of people who can, and inevitably do, put that money...

As someone who was at first for Sarah Palin, then Herman Cain, then Newt Gingrich, I am beginning to believe we may in the end consider ourselves lucky to have nominated Mitt Romney. What I see that I like begins, but does not end, with the nomination of Paul Ryan. Mitt did not succumb to political expediency in this pick. No pander pick here, even for a position that is ALWAYS a pander pick. Ryan is not a woman, not black, not Hispanic, not a Floridian, not an Oihoan. Paul Ryan is not a “long-time friend”. It also speaks volumes...
  • HAS THE OLD MEDIA WORM TURNED AGAINST OBAMA?

The answer, in a word, is "No." The old media worm has not turned against Obama, despite the much-publicized Newsweek cover featuring the president's photo with the caption, "Hit the road, Barack." The cover set off a flurry of fireworks from leftist websites. For example, The Daily Beast logged the outrage coming from several liberal outlets, as well as comments from some conservative sources, including the American Thinker's editor, Thomas Lifson. Writing for The Maddow Blog, a near-apoplectic Steve Benen wrote: Read more: http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/08/has_the_old_media_worm_turned_against_obama.html#ixzz24Yd1GJR2

We're beginning to see some amazing things, aren’t we? From Newsweek's cover to Anderson Cooper's grilling of Debbie Wasserman-Shultz to Mark Halperin’s admission of media bias, it seems each day brings us more un-characteristic behavior from the MSM. Even the Washington Post has seemingly begun to straddle a fence. Are we witnessing something monumental here? I guess the question is: why WOULD the media begin to jump ship on Obama? Is it because they are afraid they'll lose credibility? Not a chance. They've never cared about credibility, they don't now, and they won't in the future. Is it economic? Do...

Just about any gregarious conservative can register the same complaint: his friends of a liberal persuasion firmly believe in evolution, the hydrocarbon menace, technogenic global warming, and the virtues of green energy; they are convinced that racism is still rampant in America, that all the ills of inner-city schools can be cured by throwing more money at them, that criminals are actually victims of society, that voter fraud is a myth concocted by evil conservatives, that cheating at the polls is a sacred right of minorities, that illegal immigrants have committed no crime even though the word "illegal" is self-explanatory,...

STIMULUS: WHAT WAS THE QUESTION? With five front page articles on November 14, 16, and 21, the News and Advance mobilizes to make the case that the stimulus is working. What were you voters thinking on November 2? A paraphrasing and critique of the articles: November 14-Getting money is good. Getting lots of money is even better. Even if it comes from the Federal Government. We Central Virginians were once known for our independent streak. Haven’t we now just declared ourselves “unfortunate”, and moved back in with Mom and Dad? Getting money is good, even if it’s deficit spending. Even...

Images of Sunni women registering for next month's constitutional referendum spoke volumes about the likely outcome of Iraq's march toward democratic self-government. While the news here about completion of Iraq's draft constitution has emphasized Sunni opposition to some provisions, principally its federalism, the lines seeking to register for the Oct. 15 vote on this historic document tell a different story: Iraqis -- Shi'ites and Sunnis alike -- eager to approve the next step in what Iraqi President Jalal Talabani calls the struggle "for democracy and freedom." Photos beamed round the world last week of head-covered Sunni women in registration lines,...

Drumbeat Of all places I could expect to see a “drumbeat” for raising Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards, (Drumbeat Grows Louder For Fuel Efficiency, Patrice Hill, Monday, August 22, 2005.), the last was the front page of the Washington Times. As a matter of fact, it should have been on the op-ed page, as the first paragraph of the article clearly shows: The recently approved energy legislation excluded the biggest item that would have cut U.S. dependence on foreign oil as well as help lower record-high oil and gasoline prices: higher fuel efficiency standards for cars and sport utility vehicles.What...
