WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has concluded that Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime has used chemical weapons against the opposition seeking to overthrow him, U.S. officials said Thursday, crossing what President Barack Obama has called a ‘red line’ that would trigger greater American involvement in the crisis. • Answer, point-by-point, Columbine survivor Evan Todd's open letter to the President.

Sign the petition! Evan Todd was wounded April 20th 1999 in the Columbine Massacre. He believes that the legislation the President is proposing to limit American's gun rights will fail. He is not the only person. Evan has penned an open letter to The President with one of the smartest, thorough explanations to date. The American people deserve to hear why The President disagrees. American's deserve better than talking points with flawed logic.

Beaufort, N.C. Jan. 17, 2013 TO THE EDITOR: Republicans and “so-called” conservatives are at it again. They are claiming that the Constitution gives people the right to have guns without the permission of the government. If that were true, then how could New York and Chicago have laws against it?

Imagine the National Football League in an alternate reality. Each player's salary is based on how long he's been in the league. It's about tenure, not talent. The same scale is used for every player, no matter whether he's an All-Pro quarterback or the last man on the roster. For every year a player's been in this NFL, he gets a bump in pay. The only difference between Tom Brady and the worst player in the league is a few years of step increases. And if a player makes it through his third season, he can never be cut from...

Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, just days after challenging President Bush to a series of debates based on the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates, today issued what he called The Indignation Proclamation. The wide-ranging proclamation asserts Kerry's absolute right to become immediately and furiously indignant whenever anyone dares to question his record, judgment or issues, of which Kerry seems to have many in all senses of the word. Political observers say the Indignation Proclamation actually went into effect late last week. On Thursday, just hours after an American ally had suffered a major terrorist attack, the statesmanlike Kerry spoke at the Library of...

Beating case has drug link Autopsy finds cocaine, PCP By Howard Wilkinson The Cincinnati Enquirer The 41-year-old Northside man who died early Sunday after a violent videotaped fight with Cincinnati police had cocaine and PCP in his system, the Hamilton County coroner said Monday. Dr. Carl Parrott said the drugs are stimulants sometimes linked to "bizarre and violently aggressive behavior." The widely played videotape showed Nathaniel Jones lunging at police officers and hitting them as they ordered him to stop. It took six officers repeatedly wielding metal batons to bring the 350-pound man down in a White Castle restaurant parking...

Sunday, March 30, 2003 Unsilent majority -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Batavia to troops: 'USA' Two guys with long hair, wearing green camouflage over blue jeans, held signs on the corner of Second and Main. I thought they were anti-war protesters. But I was as wrong as the Dixie Chicks singing "God Bless America." "I support the troops 100 percent," said Dewey Elam of New Richmond, holding a sign that said, "We Support the War." His friend Jerry Gaghan waved a "Bomb Saddam" poster. Batavia, population 1,700 people and three stoplights, was invaded by 1,000 visitors Tuesday night for a "Support Our Troops" rally....
