Immigrants who come to the U.S. on work or trainee visas ultimately outperform American-born workers and contribute to the country’s productivity, new research shows. Examining measures such as earnings, patenting, commercializing and licensing patents, publishing book or papers and presenting at major conferences, McGill University economics professor Jennifer Hunt concluded that those who were most successful came to the U.S. on temporary work visas for the highly skilled, known as H-1Bs, or student/trainee visas, such as J-1s or F-1s. Meanwhile, those immigrants that came to the U.S. as legal permanent residents performed as well as those who were born in...

I am considering getting involved with these folks, but am not familiar with them. Does anyone know anything about them? They are looking to change things and get conservatives elected to office regardless of party...and they also train for activism.

One of the worst things that can happen to our nation will be a violent revolution or civil war. It is difficult to imagine the horror, the insecurity and fear each would feel. Not to mention the enemies from without who would see opportunity and make matters even worse. Having said that I have none the less noticed that a growing number of people seem to have a quiet resolve and willingness to fight for our America and the individual freedom and values most of us love. In my 50 plus years of living in the US I have never...

New footage revealing the defiance of a regular middle class woman against the CNN reporter...she asks the reporter..."are you trying to play stupid?" The reporter had been pretending that the tea protests were not widely circulated. I guess her propaganda angle was that you must have watch fox or been contacted by fox to know about the protests... Great day, let's keep these protests going...May 30th nationwide!!!

This is a moving video that may help to energize each of you for tomorrow. Tomorrow, we begin the long trail back to America! Be brave, be defiant, and be LOUD! This is America, we owe it to our fathers and mothers, our grandfathers, grandmothers, sons, daughters, grandchildren and ourselves to go out a protest against this illegal and evil takeover of America! Think about it, millions have died to keep us free, now all we have to do is walk and yell, that is all. The rest will take care of itself. Do not concern yourself with small matters...

Take a gander yourself and you decide who is more popular. Sure President Bush is in Texas but Texas has a pretty large democrat population now and Biden is definitely in lefty loony land. I am hearing reports that Republicans are making huge gains in local elections in areas like Kane County, Lake County and McHenry County. Who have trended democrat last few elections. Many of these upsets were over multiple termed democrats who were thought to be unbeatable. This is incredible news that if true, shows how the left is lying in their polls and ideas.
  • Chicago Tea Party Location Moved

The Chicago Tea Party will now be held at Kluczynski Federal Building Plaza, 230 S. Dearborn in Chicago. This is a couple blocks away from the original Daley Center site. The event will be held April 15th at noon till two. I asked why the location was changed and it was vaguely described as some permit related issue. Shame after ads went out across northern Illinois in over 100 newspapers with the original location... Oh, the representative for the organizers said that they will have signs posted at the Daley Center

John H -- Members of Congress will begin debating President Obama's budget this week, with a vote likely set for next week. What you do now will decide what kind of debate they have -- one that's dominated by special interests and partisan voices intent on keeping the status quo, or one that reflects the priorities of citizens like you. According to our records, you live in zip code 61053, Illinois's 16th congressional district. Can you pick up the phone and let Rep. Don Manzullo, Sen. Dick Durbin, and Sen. Roland Burris know where you stand on President Obama's budget?...
  • The Real AIG Disgrace

The stock market was intoxicated with the Obama administration's toxic asset plan. Whatever its contempt for the upper middle class that acquires wealth through salaried work and bonuses, Team Obama still has eyes for the hedge fund class, which will be ladled out taxpayer dollars to make one-way bets on problematic bank assets. Yet the AIG bonus episode, the administration's one true disgrace so far, will not soon be forgotten. Tim Geithner is rightly on the hot seat for saying he didn't know about the bonuses until just weeks ago -- because he should have quelled this furor before it...
  • Tapping AIG Furor, Regulators Seek Power To Seize Non Banks

The government's top financial regulators are channeling widespread outrage over retention bonuses at American International Group Inc. to quickly win authority they have sought for much of the past year to seize nonbank companies and freeze their contracts. The House Financial Services Committee plans to vote as early as next week on legislation that would give the government that authority. Federal officials already have such power over banks. The Obama administration is pushing for fast action on the issue, even before Congress tackles a broader overhaul of financial regulation. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, in...
  • Revisions Offset Durable-Goods Orders Climb

WASHINGTON -- Durable goods orders unexpectedly climbed during February, but demand in the prior month was revised down deeply, an adjustment countering the idea of a rebound in the slumping manufacturing sector. Manufacturers' orders for long-lasting goods increased by 3.4% last month to a seasonally adjusted $165.56 billion, the Commerce Department said Wednesday. The 3.4% increase was a big surprise. Wall Street expected a decline of 2.0% for February. It was the largest increase since 4.1% in December 2007. But durables, which are goods designed to last at least three years, plunged 7.3% in January, revised way down from a...

Bankers on Wall Street and in Europe have struck back against moves by US lawmakers to slap punitive taxes on bonuses paid to high earners at bailed-out institutions. Senior executives on both sides of the Atlantic on Friday warned of an exodus of talent from some of the biggest names in US finance, saying the “anti-American” measures smacked of “a McCarthy witch-hunt” that would send the country “back to the stone age”.
