Just aired on local radio: Mayor Mark Funkhouser holds a press conference expressing his regret that the SCLC (Southern Christian Leadership Conference) will not hold it's annual convention in KC in 2008. Under pressure to remove Frances Semler, a 73 year old grandmother, appointed by Mayor Funkhouser to the Board of Parks and Recreation Commission, who is also a member of the Minutemen, he has stood tall and has refused to cave to vicious and racist attacks at him and Ms. Semler.

I was raised in a rock solid, mainstream middle-class, middle- American home with two loving parents. We accepted our faith as being something personal therefore was kept as such. I see the Godless DemocRAT run media, ACLU and churches with activist agendas, posing as Christian bodies. 60 Minutes aired an interview with former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan this evening. He inferred Nixon was vulgar and profane, Ford was a nice guy, Reagan wasn't that bright and was just an opportunist intested in his public image, and naturally Bill Clinton was the smartest of all that he'd served under. He went on to say how bright Hillary was and that Bush lied to him about the truth of our prosperity. I recently tuned in to the Radio Factor to hear Bill O'Reilly saying that he was hated by Freerepublic and that it was an extreme right wing blog. First of all, Mr. O'Reilly is not hated. I have a lot of respect for the man, his honesty, integrity and point of view. What I don't like, as do many Freepers, is that when he is on target on some key issues, he is way off target on others. Before seeing the recent movie Pearl Harbor, I'd heard about the love story and the fluff that dominated most of the first 3/4 of the motion picture. I bought the video and viewed it with an open mind. Yes, it was about two guys in love with the same girl.
