We have recently noted exactly why Donald Trump asks the media to pan the crowd, and the ideological reasoning the MSM production staff refuse to comply... Any average hard-working American could crush every one of the GOPe candidates, yes all of them. And if the GOPe want to go down the intellectual superiority path… well, you reach a point where that stuff becomes useless... We are 21 Trillion steps down that path, right at THAT POINT... Yet for the better part of the past decade a group of intellectual something-or-others have been teaching an insufferable storyline that it’s better to...

Well this is interesting. A woman from Canada wanted to donate to Hillary’s campaign at her big launch in New York, but was told that she couldn’t because the campaign isn’t allowed to accept foreign money….that is until they found a way to make it happen anyway:

When a crystal lattice is excited by a laser pulse, waves of jostling atoms can travel through the material at close to one sixth the speed of light, or approximately 28,000 miles/second. Scientists now have a new tool to take movies of such superfast movement in a single shot. Researchers from Japan have developed a new high-speed camera that can record events at a rate of more than 1-trillion-frames-per-second. That speed is more than one thousand times faster than conventional high-speed cameras. Called STAMP, for Sequentially Timed All-optical Mapping Photography, the new camera technology "holds great promise for studying a...

Hi y'all, I figured I'd post this here, because of the wealth of freeper knowledge out there. I figure someone will have some input. I bought a used Gold Wing some time ago. It came with the two mounts shown below (the chapstick is for scale). I've done some searching, for the kind of mount you'd attach to these so you could attach a camera, but I must be using the wrong terminology or something, as I've been unable to really find anything that is appropriate. Does anyone out there have any recommendations. I have a small video camera, and...

At the end of 2014, Nikon issued a notice saying that fake D800E DSLRs have been discovered during service center repairs. Technicians found that the cameras were actually ordinary D800 DSLRs (a few hundred dollars cheaper) that had their covers replaced with D800E shells. Nikon issued an update today saying that other models are being faked as well, namely the D610 and D4S

The Internet is teeming with photographs and videos of the starry night sky that dazzle the eyes and tickle the imagination, but have you ever wondered how the imagery compares to what photographer’s naked eye actually saw while the camera was taking a picture?

Earlier this month, we shared a video showing the incredible reach of the Canon SX60, a superzoom compact camera with a 65x lens. If you thought that video was crazy, check out this one featuring the new Nikon P900, which packs an even longer 83x optical zoom lens — the equivalent of a 24-2000mm lens in 35mm terms.

The Truth About Cars has followed the use of license plate recognition and storage technology by local law enforcement agencies, a practice that has raised alarms from civil liberties activists because of constitutional concerns over broad surveillance and the ability to reconstruct one’s movements from license plate data. Now it appears that United States Postal Inspection Service, the USPS’ own law enforcement agency has also, at least at one post office in Colorado, been collecting similar data from drivers. Though the device had apparently been operating for at least a few months, within an hour of Chris Halsne, of Denver’s...

Not too long ago I engaged in a conversation with my spouse about how I learned, quite a long time ago, that a great many television sets--possibly all of them, that are not CRTs but are now the projection, HDs, flat-screen, 3D, curved-screen, Smart Screen, and all the others--have cameras installed in them that are being used to record everything we say and do. And, such information is disseminated to... Since I'm kinda down with a fair bit of pain today, this would be a good topic for me to research, to find out just what TVs have this feature...

If you’re looking to do a solargraphy project by leaving a pinhole camera in a place for months, a bridge above a busy freeway is not a smart location choice.

Zwier Spanjer recently purchased a DJI Phantom 2 camera drone and captured the video above on his first day of flying it outdoors. The flight didn’t turn out the way Spanjer planned.

Here are 9 trail cam photos sure to send a shiver down your spine. Trail cameras are more popular than ever before, and their uses are endless. They can help pattern deer movements, catch trespassers in the act, help with estimating wildlife population numbers, catch kids trying to sneak out for a night of “studying,” and much, much more. With thousands of motion-activated cameras set up all over the country, there’s bound to be some weird, off the wall, or just plain spooky pictures out there. Just in time for Halloween, here are a few of our favorites.

Red light camera programs in Florida are in a state of flux after a Florida District Court of Appeals judge said the current system of issuing tickets is unconstitutional. On Monday, a class action lawsuit was filed in federal district court in Miami, seeking $5 million in damages from American Traffic Solutions, which operates most of the cameras in the state. The lawsuit also demands that ATS reimburse every driver who has paid tickets issued by the company. But its not the only lawsuit against ATS in the Sunshine State. So far, plaintiffs have filed three suits. ... this means...

Camera equipment has long been attractive to the eyes of thieves. After all, it’s generally portable, pricey, and a piece of cake to sell through channels such as Craigslist. In Northern California, robbers have begun targeting photojournalists at gunpoint in order to snatch their gear. Developer Trevor Sehrer, a Google engineer by day, has been working on a website that aims to help combat the theft of photography gear. It’s called Lenstag, and is an online equipment registry that makes it easier to report and track stolen cameras and lenses.

Video cameras? Yes please! Give me one. Maybe two or three. I am absolutely a HUGE proponent of law enforcement using in-car and body mounted cameras. Some ask why I feel so strongly about the subject, and to them I offer the following personal anecdote. I have personally benefited greatly from the video obtained by a digital video camera, the in-car camera system in my patrol car. A number of years ago, I was involved in an incident where, as I arrived at the scene of a call, I came under fire by a suspect armed with a rifle. I...

Another of the old Minolta classics to play with. It's a constant f4.5, highly rated for IQ and really compact. This may just be my new favorite walkaround lens.

Drivers in Chicago have gotten wise to speed cameras, budget figures show, and now the city needs to come up with $50 million in revenue. Chicagoans are costing the city tens of millions of dollars -– through good behavior. Mayor Rahm Emanuel underestimated the intelligence of Chicago drivers, and the city paid for it big time. On a smooth, wide, well-travelled stretch of Irving Park Road, running between two cemeteries — no homes, no stores, no parking — the city of Chicago is trying to balance its budget. Each flash means a photo; each photo, a violation. Each violation: a...

Meet Nixie, a wearable camera that flies off your wrist and turns into a remote-controlled quadcopter. It's the bizarre-yet-appealing wearable camera drone nobody asked for... and now we kind of want it. Intel is holding a competition to encourage new wearable technology ideas, and the Nixie is one of the finalists. So far, it's still in development, so the flying wristlet camera is rough around the edges. Team captain Christoph Kohstall eventually wants you to be able to send the the Nixie flying with a gesture. It would recognize where you're standing, snap a picture, then return to the wrist,...

Thousands of drivers in New Jersey were caught on camera allegedly running red lights but were never informed of the potential fines they faced because of a technical glitch. And the state Judiciary has asked local courts to throw out all 17,000 alleged infractions. The state lawmaker who today brought the issue to the public’s attention — Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon —said it's is just the latest example of why New Jersey’s red light camera should not be renewed when it reaches its December expiration date. ... The news of the glitch comes just days after the former CEO of Redflex...
