SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. - Detectives in San Bernardino County are searching for the man who allegedly kidnapped a woman and held her captive for a week. On March18, around 7:50 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call near El Mirage Road and Aster Road in Adelanto. The caller said they were flagged down by a woman who needed help from law enforcement.

Four kidnapping suspects were arrested in Florida after a woman in her 40s was allegedly held captive in a dog cage before making a daring escape, knocking on several doors pleading with neighbors for help. Monica Latresis Reed, 37, Cortez Jackson, 39, Kevin Holmes, 21, and Damon Tromp, 19, have since been charged with armed kidnapping with intent to commit a felony and false imprisonment with a weapon, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. BAGHDAD, Iraq — U.S. journalist Micah Garen (search), who was kidnapped in Iraq more than a week ago, was released Sunday in the southern city of Nasiriyah. Garen spoke to Al-Jazeera television, confirming his release. Garen was interviewed by telephone by the station moments after an aide to Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr (search) said the American had been released.
