Vice President Mike Pence will attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden, according to a source familiar. CNN previously reported that Pence was planning to attend the inauguration, but he was waiting on an invitation. Biden said Friday that he was glad Pence would be attending. "He's welcome. I think it's important that as much as we can stick to what have been the historical precedents of how an administration changes should be maintained. Gray Davis late Wednesday, movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger weighed his desire to be governor against the pitfalls of a recall candidacy, and Republicans worried that the man who is perhaps their strongest prospect for a recall candidate was getting cold feet.</p>

<p>All tenured, certified teachers who worked in Rapides Parish public schools last school year will be rehired, despite the School Board's budget decision to cut more than 100 teaching positions.</p> <p>School officials report that retirements and resignations opened up enough spaces to offer contracts to all those displaced teachers who have not yet been rehired.</p>
