I used to think that people were either full of crap, doing something wrong, or just straight up lying to cause trouble when they complained of this, but it just happened to me!!! I went to vote this afternoon. Our precinct uses the touch screen computerized voting systems. I touched the box for Romney/Ryan, and an 'X' appeared on the 0bama/Biden box, as if I had voted for them. I was just sitting there dumbfounded for a second, and eventually contacted a poll worker. She told me how to undo it, and I eventually voted for Romney/Ryan as I intended(I...

A Pennsylvania man was arrested yesterday after flashing his breast implants at fellow Walmart shoppers. Jeremy Owens, 23, was busted following the bizarre incident at the retailer in Lackawanna County. Owens was apprehended after he left the store and boarded a municipal bus, from which he had to be forcibly removed by cops. After being cuffed and placed in a cruiser, Owens banged his head against the vehicle’s window, apparently cutting himself in the process. Which then allowed Owens (seen at right) to allegedly spit blood at officers. Owens, who calls himself “Jamie,” was jailed for aggravated assault, drug possession,...

If Barry is hanging out at his Chicago crib and playing hoop TODAY, election day, in his home town, why did WE have to pay for him to fly out to Chicago a few days ago so he could cast an absentee ballot? Not too long ago, you had to prove why you could NOT vote on election day in order to get an absentee ballot. What did his publicity stunt cost us?

With most Germans hoping US President Barack Obama will be re-elected, the country is to see what happens on Tuesday. In a special-edition Zeitgeist, The Local asked what Berliners thought. …Anja, 36, Berlin“I am hoping that Obama will win. For me, it’s about his character. I see him more as a visionary, even though the Americans don’t understand this or try to stand in his way. But I think he’s more visionary for the future.” …Obama speaks to the basic German attitude of social responsibility within a capitalist market—and crucially in the 2008 election, he was not George W. Bush,...

One week since “Frankenstorm” Sandy hit the northeastern United States, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg projects twenty to forty thousands New Yorkers. Residents on the Rockaway Peninsula are complaining about the lack of help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). A posting at Occupy Sandy Stories described, “Many Staten Islanders feel their borough is being overlooked and ignored by authorities.” The denunciation of the Red Cross by Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro, covered by “Democracy Now!”, largely affirms this feeling of neglect permeating the community... …I’ve got to tell you, as the borough president of Staten Island,...

Florida is a Must Win for Romney If Mr. Romney loses Florida, he has only one way to victory: through all the other battleground states. He has led most polls there, however, and is the favorite. If Mr. Romney wins Florida, he has 75 paths open to him. Ohio: Obama's Firewall Of the three largest battleground states, Mr. Obama has the largest lead in Ohio – partly because of a strong local economy and the auto industry bailout. If he loses here, it's likely he will trail in Florida and North Carolina too. Losing all three leaves him with only...

Today is it, folks. The day of decision. After four years of being governed by the most left-wing administration in US History, as well as the most feckless since James Buchanan; after four years of suffering under incompetent boobs (save for their outstanding competence at corruption and cronyism) who treat the Constitution and the Rule of Law like a twenty-dollar hooker; after four appalling years that weakened the nation, abased us before our enemies, and caused hundreds of deaths; after all that, we finally get our say. The R&B superstar posted a handwritten letter on Monday to the president on her website praising his leadership and expressing her support, one day before Americans go to the polls to decide whether to grant him a second term. "Everyday we see your heart and character, inspiring all of us to give more of ourselves," wrote Beyoncé. "You are the leader to take us from where we are to where we need to be."

I liked seeing the Indiana voter opinion question so much that I thought I'd throw in a thread to get input from Virginia. I worked the polls in Richmond from 6a-8a and the turnout was literally 10x's that of 2008, which I also worked! Conservatives were fired up and up beat! You could easily tell the difference between a Romney and Obama voter. And I would say the ration was 20 to 1 Romney.

I attended Romney's rally in Manchester,New Hampshire last night. The auditorium was jam packed (don't know it's capacity).Saw cars from all 6 New England states plus New York, all plastered with bumper stickers of various Republicans...including Romney,of course.Powerful stuff for sure;it's the first time I've ever been to such an event as it was for my 23 year old nephew, screen name "NavySon".To describe the theme of Mitt's speech and his delivery in one word....PRESIDENTIAL!! I'm psyched, big time!
