The beautiful thing about science (when it’s conducted properly) is that multiple experts and laboratories in any field can match their findings against each other, peer review their work and subject competing theories to rigorous testing. That is, of course, providing you’re not doing work in climate research. In that case, if you come up with any figures which fly in the face of established Eco-Church doctrine, it’s time to stack up some kindling and burn the witch. A week ago, the Boston Globe, New York Times, and Washington Post ran stories repeating claims made by long-time Greenpeace staffer...

Climate change is the lazy progressive pundit’s best friend. There’s nothing it can’t explain. When in doubt—or when hiding your head in the sand about the existence of human evil—blame everything on climate change because blaming climate change is blaming capitalism which is the real enemy. Everyone in the faculty lounge will think you’re brilliant.

A drought from 2006 to 2010 was among the triggers for the current uprising in Syria, according to a new study. And climate models and the observational record suggest that the drought was amplified by a century-long, human-forced warming and drying trend.

In the left’s latest assault on the First Amendment, three Democrats on the Senate’s Committee on Environment and Public Works have sent out 100 letters to free-market think tanks and energy companies asking them to turn over funding records related to any research they’ve conducted on climate change. In short, U.S. Sens. Ed Markey, D-Massachusetts, Barbara Boxer, D-California, and Sheldon Whitehouse, D-Rhode Island, apostles in President Barack Obama’s climate change war, are on another political witch hunt demanding donor information and other records that are protected under the Constitution

ISIL and other Islamist jihad movements continue to round up and silence all who oppose them or refuse to convert to their extreme religious tenets. They are inspiring thousands to join them. Their intolerance, vicious tactics and growing power seem to have inspired others, as well. After years of claiming the science is settled and unprecedented man-made catastrophes are occurring right now, Climate Crisis, Inc. is increasingly desperate. Polls put climate change at the bottom of every list of public concerns. China and India refuse to cut energy production or emissions. Real-world weather and climate totally contradict their dire models...

ULUTH, Minn. – Research by a University of Minnesota Duluth professor that separates Earth’s natural climate variability from outside factors points in particular to greenhouse gas-induced climate change as the likely cause of the warming planet. The study found that natural climate variability probably has helped keep things cooler in recent years than they otherwise would have been due to the outside factors. The research, published Sunday in Science Magazine, was headed by the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Byron Steinman, an assistant professor of geological sciences with the Large Lakes Observatory and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

"I am under 'investigation,'" professor Roger Pielke Jr. of the University of Colorado Boulder posted on his blog Wednesday. The top Democrat on the House Committee on Natural Resources, Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona, sent a letter to university President Bruce Benson that asked the school to provide its financial disclosure policies and information on how they apply to Pielke, as well as any drafts and communications involving Pielke's testimony before Congress between Jan. 1, 2007, and Jan. 31, 2015. In 2013, Grijalva explained, Pielke told the Senate that it is "incorrect to associate the increasing costs of disasters with...

CAPE LEGOUPIL, Antarctica (AP) - From the ground of this extreme northern part of Antarctica, a spectacular white and blinding ice seemingly extends forever. What can't be seen is the battle raging below to reshape Earth. Water is eating away at the Antarctic ice, melting it where it hits the oceans. As the ice sheets slowly thaw, water pours into the sea, 130 billion tons of ice (118 billion metric tons) per year for the past decade, according to NASA satellite calculations. That's enough ice melt to fill more than 1.3 million Olympic swimming pools. And the melting is accelerating....

Even as the eastern U.S. freezes, there’s less cold air in winter than ever before Yet, in what may seem like a paradox, the amount of wintertime cold air circulating around the Northern Hemisphere is shrinking to record low levels. This winter (2014-2015) is on track to see the most depleted cold air supply ever measured. “We are still on pace to break the all-time record — no question about it,” says Jonathan Martin, a professor of meteorology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “Despite the brutal cold in the eastern U.S., the whole hemisphere is warmer this winter than it...

Casus Belly: Gov’t will dictate our eating habits by Daniel Clark As if the mere existence of a federal entity called the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee wasn’t chilling enough, just wait until you see the suggestions that body is making to the Departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services. The DGAC is proposing that Washington dictate our eating habits through coercion, and stating this goal as if it were as innocuous a governmental function as the issuing of a new stamp. In what it calls its 2015 “Scientific Report” (and who wants to oppose “science?”), the DGAC “highlights the...

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) on Thursday panned Sen. James Inhofe’s (R-Okla.) use of a snowball during a speech on climate change. Whitehouse used his iPad to argue that a polar vortex was bringing cold air down to Washington in part because of warmer ocean temperatures. He said that you could either believe “every major American scientific society,” the Navy, NASA, and Pope Francis that climate change is real or “you can believe the senator with the snowball.” “You can believe NASA and you can believe what their satellites measure on the planet or you can believe the senator with the...

Usually when the Obama administration is discussing doctors and health issues, Obamacare is on the table. Thursday, however, the White House threw a curve by linking health to climate change. In a new blog post, the White House declares that "7 out of 10 Doctors [say] Climate Change Is Already Harming Patients’ Health." While often the White House has been a source of upbeat reports on recent health improvements attributed in part to the Affordable Care Act, the language of this post stands in sharp contrast. For example: "Already, 1 in 10 children in the U.S. suffers from asthma. Heat-related...

In the midst of freezing weather and record snowstorms in the eastern United States, NBC's Al Roker wishes the term "Global Warming" had never been used. Too bad, Al. As the Great Lakes are mostly frozen over due to the extreme cold, you are stuck with a term devised by liberals about twenty years ago to describe what they confidently predicted would happen at the time. Now that Global Warming laughably did not pan out, suddenly liberals and Al Roker are regretting that terminology and are now using the all-inclusive "Climate Change" instead. Roker expressed his "Global Warming" regret several...

After President Obama’s veto this week of legislation demanding the approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, congressional Republicans are charging him with once again flouting the will of the duly elected legislative branch. The charge has the ring of truth when it comes to energy and environmental matters, given how much the Obama administration has sought to circumvent Republicans with regulation and executive orders in that arena, most notably with the rules announced last year limiting carbon emissions from existing power plants. But there is a reason that Obama has chosen to go it alone on energy: The GOP’s...

Climate Change, global warming or whatever the politically appropriate name of the day may be, let’s look at some of the claims our left-wing, media doom-sayers are directing at low information voters about the coming environmental Armageddon. 1. The earth is getting hotter! According to satellite data there has been no warming in over 17 years 2. The polar ice caps are melting! One picture of a polar bear on a small piece of ice has been used for ten years now. In reality, the polar bears are thriving and the ice cap is 10% bigger than in 2010. 3....

A solar-power project set to open next month in Nevada has fried 130 birds during tests and will soon join another solar farm in California in avian incineration. If as many birds being burned by solar power farms built in the U.S. were to wash up on our beaches soaked in crude oil from a leaking offshore well, the outrage would be deafening. But as with the wind turbines that now cover acre upon acre of former "pristine" countryside, what amount to avian Cuisinarts slicing and dicing everything that flies, including endangered species, only the crickets are chirping. House Minority...
