In a move that has already sparked a backlash among law enforcement groups, President Barack Obama on Thursday appointed Debo Adegbile, a former attorney for convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, to a six-year post on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. The eight-member commission consists of four members appointed by the president and four appointed by Congress. Unfortunately, the six-year appointments are not subject to Senate confirmation.

It looks like there will be no love lost between Donald Trump and the founders of the Black Lives Matter movement. In a recent interview with NPR, co-founder Patrisse Cullors said there would be absolutely no negotiating with Donald Trump or anyone in his administration. “We’re not going to be taking meetings with Donald Trump,” Patrisse Cullors said. “We’re not going to be sitting with his Attorney General. What we will be doing is protesting. What we will be doing is calling for an end to white nationalism and fascism.” The Black Lives Matter movement has grown into a nation-wide...

Follow the money. Black Lives Matter was never really about protesting whatever drug dealer, robber or petty criminal was the latest to die in another violent confrontation with the police. Its founders, left-wing gay activists with a professional interest in community organizing, had little in common with the inner city criminals that they claimed to care about. Michael Brown or Freddie Gray were only their means to an end.

Donald Trump said Monday he believes the Black Lives Matter movement has in some cases helped instigate the recent killings of police officers, and suggested he might direct his future attorney general to investigate the civil rights activist group. "Certainly, in certain instances they are," Trump told Fox News host Bill O'Reilly when he asked whether the group has been "a fuse-lighter in the assassinations of these police officers."

First in Dallas and now in Baton Rouge, lone gunmen armed with AR-15 semi-automatic military-style weapons have killed police officers -- eight in all -- and wounded nearly a dozen others, some critically. Police in both places say the killings were ambushes. In both cases the gunmen were African-American military veterans and were eventually killed by police in standoffs. What these shooters were not, it appears, in any way affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement.

America's police will be safer when they admit they have a problem, Pres. Obama declared on Sunday at a bilateral event with the prime minister of Spain in Madrid. A former Marine dressed in black and carrying extra ammunition shot and killed three Baton Rouge law enforcement officers Sunday, less than two weeks after a black man was fatally shot by police here in a confrontation that sparked nightly protests that reverberated nationwide. President Barack Obama pressured a few police leaders to attend a closed-door White House meeting with roughly 30 of his radical left-wing allies, where he pushed for federal rules to govern the nation’s 18,000 police districts. In his comments to reporters after the Wednesday meeting, Obama repeated his suggestion that white racism caused the shooting murder of five White or Hispanic police officers in Dallas, and he showed reporters that he’s fully supporting the radical activists’ campaign against the nation’s police leaders.

A Texas police officer was found murdered in his home just hours before an officer in Illinois was gunned down in the street on a morning patrol. Don Allen, 27, was killed at home some time Monday evening in Clyde, Texas, and found by family members around 7pm.
