A Congolese man accused of strangling his girlfriend and taking a selfie with her corpse has pleaded guilty to murder in southeastern Minnesota. The Star Tribune reported that Marc Amouri Bakambia admitted to killing Dorothy Redd in August 2014 after she ended their relationship. Bakambia pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Tuesday after a nine-day trial. Dakota County prosecutors say the 29-year-old Bakambia will serve a 30-year prison sentence and then be deported to Congo.

The body of an aspiring actress has been found in the water tank in the Mexico City apartment block where she lived, one year after she disappeared. Psychology graduate Carmen Yarira Noriega Esparza, 27, vanished in February last year, and friends and family feared she had been kidnapped by human traffickers and sold as a sex slave. Ms Esparza's severely decayed body was discovered in the tank after residents in the building complained that the drinking water tasted funny.

A Detroit-area man was so determined to get to Michigan from Arizona that he refused to stop and contact authorities after one of his passengers died, police said Wednesday. The man, a 62-year-old Clinton Township resident, has not been charged and authorities were awaiting toxicology results from an autopsy performed on the body of the 31-year-old woman who died.

Judy Rodrigo battled State Farm for almost six years, arguing that the insurer of her Jupiter condo should pay for the clean-up of her apartment. COSTA MESA -- A woman drove around with a decomposing corpse for months before the body was discovered by police.
