<p>The co-creator of Fox's "Glee" has revealed plans to end the series, Us Weekly reports. Ryan Murphy told reporters Wednesday in L.A. that the musical series will end its run next year after six seasons.</p> <p>The end of the show appears to be linked to the death of Cory Monteith, one of its stars.</p>

In life, he never won an Emmy, although nominated twice. In death he won’t receive one of the five separate special “In Memoriam” tributes during the Sunday, Sept. 22 awards ceremony on CBS. The program’s executive producer made that firmly if imperfectly clear when asked, by me, during a Wednesday afternoon teleconference.

We've spoken with several people who have won Emmys who are upset with the decision to give a special honor to Cory Monteith but not Jack Klugman, and they're all too scared to speak out ... for fear of some sort of retaliation. Jack Klugman -- who has won 3 Emmys and starred in TV classics -- "The Odd Couple" and "Quincy M.E." -- has been overlooked and disrespected for special mention during tonight's ceremony. Instead ... VANCOUVER, British Columbia — “Glee” actor Cory Monteith, who had struggled for years with substance abuse and once said he was lucky to be alive, died of an overdose of heroin and alcohol, the British Columbia coroner’s office said Tuesday. “There is no evidence to suggest Mr. Monteith’s death was anything other than a most tragic accident,” the office said in a statement.
