The Republican National Convention started off with a parade of dishonesty, in stark contrast with last week's Democratic convention. While CNN also watched and fact-checked the Democrats, those four nights combined didn't have the number of misleading and false claims made on the first night of the Republicans' convention. Here are some of the most noteworthy falsehoods from night one of the RNC:

When topic was raised by reporters at the Sonoma Raceway on Friday, the 40-year-old stock car driver did not bite his tongue when supporting the need to remove it. “I think it’s offensive to an entire race. FORT LAUDERDALE— A Fort Lauderdale woman will spend 10 years in prison for spraying another woman with Mace, knocking her down and stomping on her head until her eyes, nose and mouth bled, a Broward County judge ordered Monday. Porsha Dale, 22, who has a 5-year-old son, had asked for house arrest, anger management classes and treatment for depression. The two women were both interested in the same man at the time of the attack.

The city of Kannapolis is taking its "Dale Trail" banners down at the request of Castle & Cooke, the developers of the N.C. Research Center — and they won't be going back up. Monmouth Boy Scouts to Charge Annual Fee(MARLBORO, N.J.) The Monmouth Council of Boy Scouts will start charging a $52 annual membership fee, beginning March 15. Previously, parents paid a one-time registration fee. The group says it needs the money to help erase more than $1 million in debt that was caused by expenses and professional fees. The group also is asking parents to match the fee with a voluntary donation. Families with more than one Boy Scout will get a 25 percent discount on each additional child.
