CLEVELAND -- An 11-year-old girl from a Cleveland suburb has been charged with murder in the beating of a 2-month-old who was staying overnight with the girl and her mother to give the baby's mom a break. The 11-year-old, her mother and the baby girl, Zuri Whitehead of Cleveland, were on a couch downstairs when the mother fell asleep at about 3 a.m. Friday, Wickliffe police Chief Randy Ice said at a news conference Monday.

OKLAHOMA has executed a confessed child murderer for the 1997 beating death of his 13-month-old daughter. James Malicoat, 31, was condemned for beating Tessa Leadford to death at his home in the south-central Oklahoma town of Chickasha on February 21, 1997 while the girl's mother was at work. A WOMAN today wiped away tears as she recalled in a Sydney court her cousin's baby gasping for breath after being born four months prematurely. NORTHAMPTON - Jennifer Paluseo, 21, of Plymouth, a former University of Massachusetts student, pled guilty to manslaughter at Hampshire Superior Court yesterday. Paluseo also pled guilty to removing or conveying a body. She previously had pleaded innocent. Paluseo's dead infant was found at James Hall Dormitory at UMass, on May 2, 2002.
