NBC News says “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough will be a senior political analyst for the network with regular roles on “Meet the Press” and the “Today” show. Generally, over the past year, NBC News has sought to distance itself from MSNBC, where a politically liberal viewpoint dominates. NBC said Friday that Scarborough will be a regular contributor to round-table discussions on “Meet the Press." Scarborough will offer analysis on other NBC News broadcasts and work as part of the network’s election team.

Joe Scarborough believes Islamic State terrorists will be intimidated by President Obama’s golf game just minutes after his statement on beheaded journalist James Foley, perhaps thinking to themselves, “Wow, that’s one cold bastard.” The “Morning Joe” host unveiled his alternative explanation to the “horrifying” images of Obama grinning ear-to-ear on the golf course right after a sober statement condemning the execution of an American journalist by Islamic fundamentalists in Iraq.

In a break with many in the Republican Party, Mitt Romney says he backs a move to raise the minimum wage. "I, for instance, as you know, part company with many of the conservatives in my party on the issue of the minimum wage, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee said Friday morning. "I think we ought to raise it, because frankly, our party is all about more jobs and better pay, and I think communicating that is important to us," Romney added in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

If there was anyone in America who recklessly rushed to prematurely proclaim a position on George Zimmerman, it was Joe Scarborough.
