A Canadian man's license plate can forget about living long and prospering. After receiving multiple complaints, Manitoba resident Nick Troller was forced to hand over his license plate that read "ASIMIL8," a reference to the Borg, a popular alien race from Star Trek. The Borg are villainous cybernetic organisms who assimilate other societies into their own. The phrases "we are the Borg" and "resistance is futile" are printed on the license plate's frame.

Problems include assaults, thefts, fights, and property damage. "I know a friend of mine being beaten up here badly and took his car," customer Asad Abdulahi recalled Monday. The owner of Juba Cafe, located across the street from the mall,...

"Diversity statements" are used by universities in Oregon to weed out conservative and other right-leaning scholars at universities, a new report issued by the Oregon Association of Scholars (OAS) alleges. Per the report, the universities in Oregon (University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Portland State University, and Oregon Health and Science University) use a new kind of litmus test to single out conservative scholars: diversity statements. The report’s executive summary reads, as follows: Oregon colleges and universities have begun to impose requirements for prospective and current faculty to show their commitment to the partisan ideology of "diversity, equity, and inclusion."...

Clemson University’s ‘diversity education and training” teaches employees that every “cultural perspective regarding time” is equally valid, so it’s wrong to expect people to be prompt. Clemson is spending $26,945 on “diversity education and training” for its faculty members. […] In one slide, employees are taught that tardiness is acceptable because the concept of time is culturally relative. Thus, every culture’s perception of the actual time must be respected — since one “cultural perspective regarding time is neither more nor less valid than any other.” …

RED BANK -- The borough council voted along party lines at its meeting Wednesday night to declare Red Bank a "welcoming and inclusive community" in regards to immigration. The three Democrats on the council voted for the resolution, while the three Republican members voted against it. Red Bank Mayor Pasquale Menna, a Democrat, broke the tie with a "yes" vote. The resolution acknowledges the immigrant community in Red Bank, but stops short of declaring the borough of 12,000 people a "sanctuary city

Americans have become lazy, argues economist Tyler Cowen. They don't start businesses as much as they once did. They don't move as often as they used to. And they live in neighborhoods that are about as segregated as they were in the 1960s. All of this is causing the U.S. to stagnate economically and politically, Cowen says in his new book: "The Complacent Class: The Self-Defeating Quest for the American Dream." Growth is far slower than it was in the 1960s, 70s and 80s and productivity is way down, despite everyone claiming they are working so hard. "Innovation is painful....

Being born a Muslim herself, Ramadani is fearful of her life after receiving countless death threats from radical Muslims in Germany ... The average American has little knowledge of the extent to which our institutions of higher learning have been infected with a spreading cancer. One aspect of that cancer is akin to the loyalty oaths of the 1940s and '50s. Professors were often required to sign statements that affirmed their loyalty to the United States government plus swear they were not members of any organizations, including the Communist Party USA, that sought the overthrow of the United States government. Fortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down loyalty oaths as a condition of employment in 1964. Today we're seeing the re-emergence of...

The rally and march was organized by the student group Students Against State Violence (SASV) in support of a Resolution on Diversity that was passed last April by the Faculty Council, because according to the SASV, the university “has been delaying and opposing its implementation.”

If Trudeau wanted to be a little more truthful with himself and his fellow Liberals, he could always modify his favourite slogan so that it represents his true sentiments: “Diversity, it’s only skin deep.” “Diversity is our strength,” tweeted Canada’s Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently, and so say all of us: the politicians, the celebrities, the teachers, the campaigners, the media and even government. Who amongst us then could argue with such an overwhelming body of opinion? After all, Mr Trudeau and friends are unshakeable in their conviction: Diversity is our strength. Case closed. Or is it?
