MARCH 14--Claiming that he was a "minister for the Lord" living with his "wife and daughter," the man suspected of kidnapping Elizabeth Smart last month told a California judge that his February 12 arrest for vandalizing a San Diego church "was the worst night and the worst week of my whole life." Brian David Mitchell, the 49-year-old drifter who allegedly held the Utah teenager captive for nine months, claimed that, "for the first time in 22 years I got drunk that night and...the whole night was just a nightmare." Mitchell compared his one-week incarceration to "like, uh, Jonah getting...

I have been really wrong twice in my career. Once because of my faith; once because of my cynicism. Ironically, both times it involved girls kidnapped from their homes. Years ago it was a 3-year-old named Kali. Yesterday it was a 15-year-old named Elizabeth. Years ago I looked into a liar’s face and believed him. Yesterday I read a father’s words and didn’t believe them. Yet the miracle happened. And a nation rejoices. In yesterday morning’s “Salt Lake Tribune” there was an article about Ed Smart. The father of Elizabeth Smart, abducted from her home some nine months ago, he...

A woman unknowingly snapped a picture of the three here in Lakeside California. She just thought it looked so odd to see this here. She called the Rick Roberts Radio show and they contacted Utah police. Also, it seems that Emmanual spent some time in our El Cajon jail for vandizing a church. Here's the picture:

KING: All right, let's talk about the Elizabeth Smart case, which the media has kind of left now. What is your best read on that tragedy in Utah? WALSH: I spent yesterday by coincidence with Ed and Lois Smart. I had them on "The John Walsh Show" to kind of give an update to the case. You know, Ricci, the guy that was the main suspect, died in prison of an aneurysm. He's the guy that was the handyman at the house that put 1,000 miles on his pickup truck during the two days that she was missing. He was...

Police have confirmed they are checking to see if David L. Fuller, 47, the man who apparently kidnapped and killed a Faulkner County girl, may have done the same thing to other children. Kacie Rene Woody, of the Holland area northeast of Conway, and Fuller were found dead Wednesday night in a storage unit nearly 24 hours after the girl vanished from her home. "We can't help but believe the possibility is strong that he did this on other occasions É considering the amount of time and planning that went into this crime," said Major Mark Elsinger of the Conway...
