Here is the breakdown of acting nominations at the BL-MMY'S Percentage: White actors: 60.7% (68 of 112) Black: 35.7% (40 of 112) Other: 3.6 (4 or 112) There was only ONE hispanic/latino actor nominated. Rain Valdez for a short form comedy series. The remaining nonwhite actors were Sandra Oh, Ramy Youssef, and Dev Patel. Hollywood said they wanted to accurately represent America. Sunday night’s hostless Emmys on Fox was likely hoping to emulate the Oscars ratings success in cutting out an emcee. However, according to preliminary Nielsen figures, the 2019 Emmys have gone the way of seemingly all awards shows in declining year on year. Fox’s broadcast posted a 5.7 rating and a 10 share in the overnight metered market ratings, which is down 23% on last year’s Monday night show on NBC and 30% below the preliminary rating for the 2017 ceremony which also aired on a Sunday night on CBS. The total viewership for TV’s big night, as well as...

Hollywood may have laughed when Emmys host Michael Che said the only white people who thank Jesus are "Republicans and ex-crackheads," but Tinseltown's latest middle finger to Middle America fell flat in flyover country, and may have contributed to the telecast's all-time low viewership. Co-host Michael Che left many viewers of the 70th Annual Emmy Awards upset during the opening monologue with his fellow "Saturday Night Live" star Colin Jost, explaining that his mother would not be watching the show on Monday night. "She says she doesn’t like watching white award shows because you guys don’t thank Jesus enough," Che...

John Goodman isn’t paying attention to the Roseanne Barr controversy — and he couldn’t care less about ABC’s decision to pull the plug on “Roseanne” and its Emmy campaign. “I wasn’t gonna get an Emmy anyway,” Goodman said in a video Wednesday, which was obtained by ET. “I’ve been up there [11] times already, and if I didn’t get one I’m not gonna get one,” the actor added. Up until now, Goodman — who served as Barr’s on-screen husband for more than a decade on “Roseanne” — has remained silent on her controversial tweet about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett....

Trump Derangement Syndrome at the Emmy Awards revealed that in Hollywood, as in the USSR or North Korea, it's dangerous to deviate from the party line. (A very surprised Dolly Parton, who didn't expect her Nine to Five co-stars to go all "Cultural Revolution" on her at the Emmy Awards.)I didn't watch the Emmy Awards. In fact, I haven't watched the Emmy Awards in at least 20 years.I don't watch the Emmy Awards in part because, with a very few exceptions, I don't watch television. Those exceptions are: Dancing With The Stars (I know, I know, but I do love...

People are starting to tune out awards shows like the Emmys because they have become so politicized, White House aide Kellyanne Conway said Monday. "It’s — between the Emmys, the Miss America pageant was very politicized. Our sports are very politicized," Conway said on Fox News. "And it looks like the ratings are suffering. It looks like America is responding by tuning out, because they want you to stick to your knitting," she continued. "They want you to, I guess, in this case, read the stuff other people write for you. And so they are welcome to their opinion, but...

Since it often seems like the most entertaining limited series on television, there was little surprise that the presidential campaign made its presence felt at the Emmy Awards. Jokes and politicking took place onstage and off Sunday. Former Republican candidate Jeb Bush made an appearance in Jimmy Kimmel's opening comedy skit and Hillary Clinton tweeted congratulations to her impersonator, Kate McKinnon of "Saturday Night Live." [Snip] It wasn't much of a surprise to hear Trump didn't have many friends in Hollywood.

Crew members working on “Transparent” are reportedly upset with gender-neutral bathrooms on set — and too afraid to speak up. Toilets on the set of the critically acclaimed Amazon hit about a transgender woman’s journey are open to male, female and transgender occupants, reports TMZ, making some uncomfortable with the prospect of running into a different gender in the restroom. But fear of appearing intolerant on the Emmy-winning series celebrated for its inclusiveness has apparently kept disgruntled employees from complaining. The bathrooms contain at least two stalls and two urinals, photos obtained by the gossip site show. They have been...

At last night's 2013 Emmy Awards, actor Don Cheadle offered a rambling salute to the power of TV. Starting with Walter Cronkite's emotional reporting of Pres. Kennedy's assignation and moving on to other touchstones of leftist history, Cheadle argued that TV is the binding force of modern society. TV tells society what to feel, how to think, and what is OK to express openly. TV is the vanguard and constitution of all that is worthwhile. Cheadle's eyes tracked the teleprompter as if in disbelief of the propaganda he was required to spew. Far from an assertion of dominance, Cheadle's speech...

Effective for the 2010-2011 awards year, the Main Title Theme category will be eliminated and replaced with a new category, “Music Composition for a Nonfiction Program.” Details about the placement of main title theme achievements are still being discussed by the Music PGEC.
