Crocs have become a danger at Disney World — but not the ones with teeth and scales. Walt Disney World has reportedly declared war on Crocs, the ones you wear on your feet, following multiple incidents involving the foam slides jamming escalators. The Florida amusement park has “outlawed” the popular footwear — at least on its escalators — where the shoes have been getting chewed up and stuck in the escalator teeth, Inside the Magic reported.

18 injured in Hong Kong mall after escalator reverses direction at high speed At least 18 people were injured Saturday afternoon when an escalator at a shopping mall of Hong Kong‘s Langham Place suddenly reversed direction and increased speed. Video footage shot by witnesses showed that an upwards escalator suddenly reversed and went downward at an obviously higher speed, leading to dozens of passengers losing their balance and tumbling down to the ground. Local media outlet Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) quoted an injured passenger as saying that the escalator was going “twice as fast.”

Woman dies after hijab, hair get tangled in Montreal escalator MONTREAL — A woman in her 30s is dead after her headscarf and hair became caught in a subway-station escalator. A bystander found the woman lying at the base of the escalator at Fabre metro station in east-end Montreal around 9:15 a.m. He alerted transit workers, who called police. When first responders arrived, the woman was unresponsive. "We tried to perform resuscitation on site, but we weren't able to save her," paramedic Bob Lamle told QMI Agency. A woman died Thursday morning after her scarf got caught in the escalator at the Fabre Metro station in Montreal. The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. ET at an unsupervised, automatic entrance to the Metro station on the blue line. "She got strangled… and the woman, aged around 30, passed away on scene,” said Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant of the Montreal police. A witness told investigators that the woman's hair also got caught in the escalator after she bent down in an attempt to dislodge her scarf.

Two Democrats Stuck on an Escalator

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― A man died after falling several stories in a Hollywood shopping mall while apparently attempting to slide down the banister of an escalator. Los Angeles police Officer J. Boyer says the victim's friends told officials investigating the Saturday night incident at the Hollywood and Highland Center that the man "had been drinking quite a bit." Boyer says he lost his balance and plunged several stories onto the steps of a moving lower-level escalator. The man, who was not identified but is believed to be under 30, was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead...

OSLO, Norway Locals in a mountain town in Norway are celebrating progress today. The village has gotten its first escalator. The town of Trysil is one of Norway's most popular ski resorts, so its 68-hundred residents are no strangers to ski lifts. But they're all outdoors. The new 50-foot-long escalator is inside the shopping center. The local newspaper ranks it with the town's first traffic circle. And a member of the Trysil history club puts it on the par with the first time anybody there ate a potato.

St. Petersburg, Florida - At 11AM, Tuesday morning, a jury awared $9.5-million dollars to the mother of Kerriana Johnson. In the two-week trial, lawyer's for the young girl's family brought 15 Dillard's customers to court to testify they too, had their shoes caught in the down escalator in the year before and after Kerriana had her shoe caught, then lost three fingers, when she tried to extract the shoe.
