A Boise State University professor recently learned what happens when you challenge left-wing social narratives on college campuses. Scott Yenor, a tenured professor, has been under siege on campus after publishing articles with The Heritage Foundation and The Daily Signal about feminism and the transgender movement. Long Beach has an annual Tiki Festival that is a small family oriented event but that also gets some pretty good Hawaiian and Polynesian dance groups for entertainment. I dropped by this morning and was surprised and happy to hear Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" playing just as I walked up. One of the Hawaiian dance groups played it as the young ladies did a slow "hula" to the music. It was very well done and the crowd loved it. Just wanted to share a refreshing patriotic moment from a place you would not expect.
