One of the big liberal memes in this election season is about the many women who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 but have now seen the error their ways and have decided to go Blue this year. And since there are supposed to be so many women in that category, they should be easy to find, right? Well, Politico writer Michael Kruse attempted to hunt them down but came up woefully short. Kruse described his political safari to the wilds of North Carolina to find such a woman in his October 25 Politico Magazine article, "They’re Angry, Disgusted and Out...

Democrats are leaving their party more in sorrow than in anger, but leaving it they are, sickened by the Democratic Party’s hard left turn. Tens of thousands are telling their stories on the #walkaway movement’s public Facebook page. Their YouTube videos are a fascinating window into the innermost thoughts of kind, thoughtful people across America—all former Democrats. My personal favorites are what I call “nice ladies driven away by Democrat hate.” During and after the election, many women stopped buying what the Dems are selling. They come from every generation, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and region of America. These women...

I’ve been dismissive of Jim Webb’s prospects for winning the Democratic presidential nomination. But Jacob Heilbrunn’s column on Webb, and Steve’s commentary on that column, made me take another look. On second look, I still don’t see Webb getting very far. Will female Democrats favor Webb — currently in his third marriage and the author of what some might consider a sexist novel — over Hillary Clinton? Not likely. Will African-Americans favor Webb — so proud of his Scotch-Irish heritage — over the wife of “our first black president”? Not likely. Will white southern Democrats favor Webb? Arguably. But he’s...

The bad news for Democrats keeps pouring in. Now it comes from Wal-Mart moms -- women with children under 18 who shop at Wal-Mart. They tend to be Democrats and more of them than not voted for President Obama in 2008. But they’re leaning Republican this year. And despite the happy economic talk from the White House, they believe the economy is hurting their families and their situation will be just as bad a year from now. In Washington today, Wal-Mart officials unveiled a national survey of their female customers, who pollsters said amount to 16 percent of the electorate....

If soccer moms determined the outcome of the 1996 presidential race and security moms tipped the balance in 2004, it is beginning to look as if older moms are the key to the 2008 contest. Obama has a problem among women over 40 and a big problem among women over 50. These groups, normally the staunchest of Democratic supporters, are showing a propensity to back McCain. According to the latest Fox News survey, Obama is winning among women under 40 by 13 points, but McCain is winning among women aged 41-45 by four points. Among women 50 and over, McCain...

We've gotten an avalanche of emails from around the country this week in the wake of news that Sen. Hillary Clinton will be closing out her campaign Saturday. This one, from Billie Bromer of Augusta, Georgia, is representative of many, capturing the sentiments of Hillary supporters -- angry, aggrieved, mournful -- as they watch the end of a landmark campaign. What it shows: the considerable challenges ahead for the Obama campaign -- and the Democratic Party -- when it comes to winning these voters over in the next 150 days. Take a read: I am one of those 'upset' Hillary...

Hillary's women have a choice to make. Do they stick with their party and the candidate who reminds them of every man who got the raise and promotion before they did? Or, do they switch to the Republican nominee who reminds them of the dad with whom they disagree, but respect? If Barack Obama picks Hillary Clinton as his running mate, the choice is easy: Obama-Clinton in November. If he selects another Democrat, it could get more complicated. Without Hillary on the ticket, can a Clinton supporter seamlessly transfer loyalty to Obama, who is likable enough, unless he slips and...

Just over a year ago, before she announced her candidacy, I wrote about Hillary Clinton and the woman's vote. Here's part of my analysis: [H]er style is what many, including women, hold against her... As a woman, she has to be tough - but not so tough that she turns people off. Up until New Hampshire, perhaps it could be said that Hillary's style was definitely turning voters off in droves (not to mention enough baggage to fill the Titanic's cargo hold). As the gap between her and Barack Obama got smaller and smaller leading up to the Iowa caucuses...

Four top ranking female Republican presidential campaign operatives brushed aside the notion of the “women’s vote” in a panel to promote “their man” Tuesday afternoon. In her introduction of campaign spokeswomen for Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson, moderator and Washington editor of National Review Kate O’Beirne chortled at Democratic pollster Mark Penn’s assertion that Hillary Clinton would draw the female vote because of “emotional appeal” based on gender. “There’s no such thing as the monolithic women’s vote,” O’Beirne said. Rather, these women seemed confident that men and women alike would vote for a Republican candidate because...
