I was pleasantly surprised by one aspect of yesterday’s Restore Honor rally on the Mall. It came from a surprising source, the Washington Post. It is Anna Uhls superb video coverage of the event. Link here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/video/2010/08/28/VI2010082803627.html?hpid=artslot She covers it from the perspective of David Meister, a 40 something father and his 12 year old son Adam who took a ten hour “red eye” bus from New Richmond, Ohio to participate. David expresses his concern that President Obama is taking us down the wrong path and to turn things around he would have to change his policies 180 degrees. He...

President Obama chuckles when Brian Williams asks him about polls that show may Americans still believe he is a Muslim. He says he doesn't pay much attention to those polls, because "I can't spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead."

Wow... went to 8-28 in DC. Best crowd, as usual... I will follow up with photos. I was at the 9-12 and HCR rally and I would safely say there were 2 million plus people. Crowds overflowed from the Lincoln memorial to the Washington Monument. Unbelievable...

The rally is tomorrow and the media out in full force slamming Beck, maligning the Americans who will attend, insinuating ulterior and sinister motives behind the rally, it's truly amazing. The left wing media must be very worried. Here is but one example, but everywhere the 8.28 rally is under siege. Glenn Beck's 8/28 rally: An instant guide

When Fox News and talk radio host Glenn Beck comes to Washington this weekend to headline a rally intended to "restore honor" to America, he will test the strength - and potentially expose the weaknesses - of a conservative grass-roots movement that remains an unpredictable force in the country's politics. Beck, who is both admired and assailed for his faith-based patriotism and his brash criticism of President Obama, plans in part to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. as an American hero. He will speak on the anniversary of the "I Have a Dream" speech, from the spot where King delivered...

Beloved friends, August 28 is not about Glenn Beck. So many progressives have pointed their ire toward him — but we should point the finger of condemnation at ourselves, rather than at him. Particularly, we who are pastors. When did we let “God’s truth marching on” become a trickle of justice rather than a “flowing mighty stream”? I wonder how much has changed in the 47 years since the March on Washington. August 28, 1963, was not just Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech (which many corporations have misused to their advantage during Black History Month). It was the...

The Mormons are embracing their inner Mad Men with an extensive TV ad campaign that rebrands the Church of the Latter Day Saints as “normal” ( Video). Lots of churches use advertising, of course, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but the uncomfortable subtext here for people of faith is that good brand management often succeeds where the good book on its own fails. The Mormon repositioning is an admission that a central part of its faith — the two years of required missionary work that often consists of knocking on strangers’ doors to share the good news — has...

On the picture is the deed of gift from the people of France – The Statue of Liberty. The famous sonnet, composed by Emma Lazarus is inscribed on the pedestal. Recently Glenn Beck put it in the front and center of the political debate. How are we supposed to read the Lazarus verse? Well if you read it like that and you really think it through, what are we? A hospital?... is the Statue of Liberty saying to Europe, guys, Europe, you’re never going to make it with all that refuse. Send it over to me, we’ll take care of...

Every once in a while Glenn Beck will get a clip from a famous nit wit and just absolutely tear it apart. It’s a special talent of Beck and it couldn’t be more hilarious. He’s destroyed Gadahn the American, he’s beaten up Olbermann, and now he’s on to Pelosi. Enjoy.

Authorities in California said today they have opened an investigation into Goldline International, a company that pioneered the practice of weaving its sales pitches into broadcasts by popular conservative political personalities -- including two former presidential candidates and Fox News host Glenn Beck -- to sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of gold every year. There are two main types of complaints we're seeing," said Adam Radinsky of the Santa Monica City Attorney's office, which has launched what it described as a joint investigation with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. "One is that customers say that they...

On July 5th Glen Beck comes to KRLA 870 here in LA for the early morning when Mike Gallagher's is on. Mike will be moving to the late afternoon from what I've been able to piece together. If that's true that would bump Hugh either from the station or to some other time slot. Does anyone know what is going to happen to his show. I listen almost every day and will be really ticked if he disappears from this market. I much prefer him to either Mike Gallagher or Micheal Medved who has the early afternoon.

It seems to me that there are two trends regarding the gulf oil spill that are presently vying for attention among the Cable TV political punditry. One is evolving from the right side of the spectrum and focuses on fixing the problem through good old fashion American ingenuity. As we watch scientifically minded problem solvers pour oil from a test tube into a glass tank and then scoop up all the oil with either hay or some new fibrous product, which leaves the water clear and glistening and reminds me of a show I used to watch in the 1950’s...

Jesus of Nazareth, also known as Jesus Christ, or simply Jesus, is the central figure of Christianity. The life and sermons of Jesus form the basis of the Christian faith. Jesus Christ is recognized by believing Christians as God incarnate, the Son of God who was raised from the dead—the Redeemer of mankind—the most important figure in history. According to Mormon doctrine, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. However, it seems that even the perceived Savior of the world is not exempt from LDS temple rituals. Proxy rites for Jesus Christ were performed in the Salt Lake (LDS)...

Republican precinct committee member Michael Law, also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said Steven K. Ricks personally presented him with a binder of instructions on identifying eligible Republican voters - a packet that included ward lists of church members, addresses, phone numbers and voting histories. "Every single name on the list was a member of the Mormon church," Law said. "He told us not to use the word 'list.' But he gave us a ward list to begin with." The packet showed members of a "Republican Election Committee" created by Ricks how to help...
