Democrats on Capitol Hill are proving their socialist stripes: They’ve reportedly considered raiding the “super-sized retirement savings accounts” of the wealthy to pay for their $3.5 trillion progressive spending fiasco. On Tuesday, Politico reported that congressional Democrats are “aghast that hundreds of Americans have IRAs worth more than $25 million, and nearly 30,000 have accounts with balances topping $5 million.” (The nerve of them, no?) On the other hand, they observe, some folks “have little to no retirement savings” — also surely the fault of those who work hard and save their money over the course of their lives. Meanwhile,...

Have a question for Freepers. Are appointments still needed for barber shops and hair salons? I called my barber yesterday to make an appointment for a haircut. I was told it was no longer required to make an appointment. I live in California and not in a homeless area. Temp. today was 108 degrees

(23 Aug 2016) GOP vice presidential candidate Mike Pence stopped for a haircut at Pennsylvania barbershop on Tuesday afternoon between campaign stops. The unsuspecting barber cut Pence's hair with no idea who his lone customer for the day was. A representative for the Indiana governor visited the shop in Norristown on Monday and told the owner, Henry Jones, that “his friend needed a haircut.” Jones, who is usually off Tuesdays, spent time discussing their families and sports while Pence sat in the chair for his $20 trim. Jones says Pence didn’t ask for his vote, and he is undecided in...

"There was no way I could've set that up," Kious fired back. "I've had a camera system in there for five years. I mean, I didn't go in there and turn cameras on as soon as she walked in and set her up. So that is absolutely false." Salons in San Francisco had been closed since March and could only reopen for outdoor hairstyling services on Sept. 1. Pelosi said she understood that coronavirus restrictions allowed for a one-on-one appointment indoors. "I heard that," Kious told Carlson, "and I thought to myself, 'Well as a hairstylist, I see clients one-on-one....

(CNN) - The governor of Pennsylvania wants everyone - including the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers - to adhere to guidelines around the coronavirus pandemic. Even if that means skipping a haircut at a salon or barbershop. During a briefing on Tuesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf was asked what he thought about Ben Roethlisberger recently getting a haircut and beard trim at a barbershop in the state. “My concern is just a general concern,” Wolf said, not mentioning Roethlisberger by name. “Anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something that I think we ought to try to...

LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) - Another protest is planned for Lansing today. But the organizers aren’t bringing guns. They’re bringing scissors, clippers and chairs. Operation Haircut is organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition which put on the first Lansing Operation Gridlock on April 15. Protesters with guns are expected to piggyback on the event. **SNIP** Seely says this is about what’s safe and small businesses setting up chairs on the lawn and offering their services free. This will include barbers, hair stylists, massage therapists, dog groomers, and seamstresses. Jose Lozano has let his hair and beard grow for the two months...

Ben Roethlisberger broke pandemic restrictions to get his hair cut and beard trimmed, along with a small recording crew, for a video the Steelers quarterback put out on his Twitter account Monday. Governor Tom Wolf doesn’t want Roethlisberger, or anyone to break coronavirus restrictions in that way. “My concern is just a general concern and anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something i think we ought to try to avoid,” Wolf said in response to a question about Roethlisberger specifically. "And when you go to something like a barbershop and you’re not protected, I don’t care...

The community thanked the brave agents for keeping them safe from the underground haircutting crime ring. The business has been operating in secret, with hair stylists opening a little eye slot and asking for the password before letting ladies in to get their hair cut. Authorities believe they have smuggled hundreds of desperate women in for cuts, colors, and even deadly shampoos.

How much is too much to blow on a new ‘do? Ever since Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got the $260 cut and color heard ’round the world, reactions have been mixed. Detractors accuse her of “champagne socialism,” while others argue the price tag is within reason for a public figure — and a New Yorker at that. “I don’t think it’s outlandish,” megastylist Scott Buchanan tells The Post. Prices at his five NYC-area Scott J salons start at $75 for a cut and $90 for color, with lowlights such as the ones AOC received starting at $160. He also notes that...
