Abubakar Shekau, the leader of Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for the more than 200 schoolgirls that were abducted two weeks ago and vowed to “sell them in the market.” After pressure from the international community for the Nigerian government to act, the country’s president has reached out to the U.S., among other countries, for help finding and ensuring the release of the girls. New Obamacare health insurance enrollees may feel a pang of envy when they eye the coverage plans offered by Walmart to its employees. For many years, the giant discount retailer has been the target of unions and liberal activists “notorious for failing to provide health benefits” and "substandard.” But a Washington Examiner comparison of the two health insurance programs found that Walmart's plan is more affordable and provides significantly better access to high-quality medical care than Obamacare. Walmart offers its employees two standard plans, a Health Reimbursement Account and an alternative it calls "HRA High" that costs more out of...

The rollout of Obamacare has been "absolutely chaotic," said Tommy Thompson, who served as U.S. Health and Human Services secretary under George W. Bush. "If you don't have the healthy young people involved, ... Obamacare cannot function. It's going to require a huge infusion of tax dollars or huge cuts." One of the cornerstones of the new health-care law is that healthy young people will pay for medical insurance that they...

In an important victory for Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, GOP delegates to the state party's convention Sunday twice soundly snubbed conservatives' resolutions opposing his landmark, controversial universal health care plan. First, a committee dodged the resolutions on the widely divisive issue that includes myriad stakeholders, then the general assembly refused to waive rules needed to consider the resolutions. Schwarzenegger administration officials hailed the development as a sign that many involved in the issue remain open-minded. "It's encouraging people want to be part of the debate," said Schwarzenegger spokeswoman Sabrina Lockhart. "People understand the health care system is broken," she said....
