Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, are among the 2020 contenders who have decided not to attend. In South Africa, a 3-judge panel of the North Gauteng High Court set aside as unlawful and invalid a decision on same-sex relationships made by the General Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church during the Synod's November 2016 meeting. That decision reversed a 2015 policy that recognized same-sex civil unions and allowed the ordination of gays and lesbians. In Gaum v. Van Rensburg, S.A. High Ct., March 8, 2019), the court said in part: The Church denied that the 2016 decision prevents the participation of the LGBTQIA+ community in the church community, or that it impedes their private lives, or...

The Episcopal Church's House of Bishops met in Kanuga, NC this past week in an attempt to put lipstick on a pig. Michael Curry's much ballyhooed "way of love", an advance certainly on Frank Griswold's Circle Dance of Dispossession, and other Sufi ramblings, saw the HOB get an evangelical wakeup call from two speakers, who would, in times past, have been shown the door, not invited in. The first was a woman bishop from the African American Methodist Church, whose denominational mandate is "to seek out and save the lost and to serve the needy." TEC hasn't saved a soul...

Readers of this blog are already familiar with Glide Memorial, a radical progressive congregation in San Francisco that recently severed ties with the United Methodist Church (UMC). Legal fights between Glide and the UMC’s California-Nevada Annual Conference continue, but occasionally there is something or someone that we suspect regular readers will find noteworthy, such as an Islamic Drag Queen. Enter “Drag & Spirituality: Claiming Our Sanctuary” – “This talk show-style conversation will explore the intersections of drag, gender, sexuality and spirituality. Our host & event curator, B0NNi33 Vi0L3T, aka Duane Quintana, a queer chaplain, will interview ground-breaking local drag queens,...

For the first time since the dramatic change in public opinion around gay rights, Democratic presidential candidates will be invited to participate in a forum focused exclusively on LGBT policies. The event is scheduled for Oct. 10, the eve of National Coming Out Day. Hosted by the Human Rights Campaign and the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, the 2020 candidates will discuss topics related to hate crimes, bullying and transgender rights. The HRC Foundation held presidential forums for Democratic primary candidates in 2004 and 2008. In 2012 and 2016, it did not hold one for the large Republican primary...

Democratic presidential candidate John Hickenlooper confirmed Wednesday night during his CNN town hall event that he took his mother to watch an X-rated pornographic movie when he was younger and that the two stayed for the entire movie. Hickenlooper confirmed that the incident, which he wrote about in his memoir, happened when he returned home from college to visit his mother for Thanksgiving. Hickenlooper's dad died when he was 8-years-old, and he said that he didn't realize that his mother was lonely until he returned home from college. "I promised, I called a friend in Philadelphia — and ... we...

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends) By now, we all know that Irish Bob O’Rourke is a fake “rising star” in this year’s Democrat presidential nominating contest. Irish Bob always was little more than a pure media creation, and he is now struggling on the national stage mainly because the same media that created and supported him in his 2018 run against Ted Cruz has now moved on to campaigning for Kamala Harris and The Commie. But there are two real rising stars in the Democrats’ nominating battle, and their names will probably surprise you: Andrew...

During a Wednesday appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, Katie Couric revealed that “a long time ago” she and the New Jersey politician went on a blind date together at a New York Giants game. “Wow, this just in!” she playfully exclaimed as the audience reacted with surprise. “He was really nice,” Couric, 62, said of Booker, 49. “Did we kiss?” she said. “No, we did not kiss.” Still, she had only kind things to say of Booker and Dawson, his newly confirmed girlfriend, whom Couric praised as “very cool” in part thanks to her political activism. “I really like...

What kind of weird Republicans does Mika Brzezinski know? On today's Morning Joe, Brzezinski claimed that after 'Mayor Pete' Buttigieg appeared on yesterday's show, "I was surprised by the number of Republicans who reached out to me, saying, I'm going to support him. Because I'm looking for someone." Really? What kind of Republican is "looking for someone" like Buttigieg, who has these straight-down-the-line liberal positions on the issues? "Pathway to citizenship" for illegal immigrants Endorses Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal Prevented a pro-life group from opening a center next to an abortion clinic More gun control "All for" single-payer health care...

We've recently reported on the Democrats' intentions of trying to expand the Supreme Court in hopes of getting revenge on Mitch McConnell. The Senate Majority Leader blocked President Obama nominee Merrick Garland, who he intended to replace the late Antonin Scalia. McConnell kept the seat open for President Trump to appoint a more conservative individual. And then another after that. With the Court now clearly skewed to the right, progressives have begun to seriously consider upending the norm. "Given the Merrick Garland situation, the question of legitimacy is one that I think we should actually talk about," Holder said earlier this...

I gotta rant and if its bad enough I throw it out on FR. Please bear with. As I said a million times I record and then watch TV. I do because it is still entertaining for the most part. But L&O:SVU has gone off the rails and finally over the cliff. I started the latest episode last night. A little girl was abducted and then rescued in the first 10 minutes. Hmmmm that was a bit different/strange. So the next scene was with the little girl and her father in the hospital room. After a minute or so in...

A devout Catholic and mother is the subject of a five-month police investigation - after she was accused of calling a transgender woman a 'he' on Twitter. Caroline Farrow, a broadcaster and writer for Roman Catholic newspapers, said she had a phone call from an officer on Monday asking her to attend an interview. Mrs Farrow, 44, said she may have posted the suspect tweet following an appearance on Good Morning Britain last September, during which she took part in a debate on transgender children. She said she was prepared to go to jail, adding: 'I don't know what I...

Azusa Pacific University spokesperson Rachel White explained in comments emailed to The Christian Post on Tuesday that the changes were part of an overall update of the undergraduate student handbook. “The old handbook, produced decades ago, underwent a significant revision and redesign after input from student leaders, board, administration, faculty,...

LANSING, Michigan, March 15, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – Michigan’s lesbian attorney general and the state’s Department of Civil Rights director are investigating organizations the left-wing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has deemed “hate groups.” One such group in their state is Catholic news service Church Militant, which reports on clerical sexual misdeeds and advocates adherence to the teachings of the Catholic Church. The SPLC has labeled Church Militant “anti-LGBT.” The law center lumps pro-life, pro-marriage, and Christian organizations in with neo-Nazis and the KKK as “hate groups.” Its “hate map” inspired a man to attempt a shooting rampage at the Family...

We have now learned more about Google’s decision last year to ban my ministry from advertising our video “Can You Be Gay and Christian?” on YouTube. According to a new report, “Google banned a video explaining Christian teaching on same-sex marriage from advertising on YouTube after backlash from upset employees, according to internal Google communications reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation.” So, enough employees got upset about our video — the dreaded “microagressions”! — that the complaints made their way to Google VP Vishal Sharma, who agreed that YouTube had no business accepting advertising for a video like this...

'Everyone has the right to demand from public authorities protections of a child against demoralization'WARSAW, Poland (ChurchMilitant.com) - The Polish bishops are condemning a charter that claims to introduce protections for "LGBT rights" but instead proposes discrimination against those that are not supportive of it, pushing immoral and unchaste sexual education to children. Aimed at implementing anti-discrimination measures and introducing sexual education that complies with the World Health Organization (WHO) standards, Warsaw's mayor, Rafał Trzaskowski, signed the "LGBT+ Declaration," in February. In 2016, Poland has been accused by the European Union's Commission for Human Rights of violating women's human rights....

Following the announcement of casting actor Esai Morales as Deathstroke, DC Universe's live-action Titans has cast Chella Man as Jericho, a hero in his own right and the son of DC's famed mercenary. Though he's not a big name in Hollywood, Man, who self-identifies as deaf, genderqueer and a queer artist, has seen his profile grow both as a deaf activist and as a model. In 2017, the Jewish/Chinese-American actor began to transition from female to male and has quickly become a noted figure in LGBTQ+ circles, documenting his transition on Instagram, YouTube and a series of columns for them....
