An Australian school was forced to apologize after a student came to a book festival dressed as Adolf Hitler and was named one “of the best dressed,” all while a group of students from a Jewish school were visiting. Roger Herbert, principal of St. Philip’s College, a boarding school in the city of Alice Springs, told Australia's ABC TV that his school deeply regretted the decision to allow the student to come dressed as the Nazi leader. Herbert said he had already apologized to the Jewish students from Melbourne's Bialik College and the principal of their school.

Actor and activist Danny Glover has offered hugs and moral support to Cleveland-area workers at a men's suit plant that faces a shutdown next month with the loss of 375 jobs. Glover later held a news conference and appealed to Germany's Hugo Boss AG to reverse its shutdown decision. Glover led a boycott of Hugo Boss formal wear at the Academy Awards earlier this month. The company says its shutdown decision stands. The company says the union representing workers rejected concessions at the plant, which it says isn't globally competitive.

Europe's largest mail-order company is reportedly threatening to ban British sportswear firm Lonsdale because of the brand's popularity with neo-Nazis. Germany's Quelle told a UK newspaper it wished to distance itself from "all tendencies associated with extremism". In the UK, Lonsdale is known for its boxing links. But on the continent, its clothes are worn by the extreme-right. No-one from Lonsdale owner SWI Group was available for comment on Wednesday.
