by Gina Cassini Former second lady Dr. Jill Biden, whose husband former VP Joe Biden is running for the 2020 Democrat nomination, handed out tamales and Christmas gifts to migrants in Mexico as part of a visit with local leaders on Sunday -- and many Americans were not pleased with her choice of venue. Biden toured a migrant camp across the border from Brownsville, Texas, home to over 2000 asylum-seekers. Many of the migrants, often referred to as MPPs, have remained in Mexico as part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Migrant Protection Protocols program as they await hearings before U.S. immigration officials....

In a bid to intimidate the 100+ local governments that have declared their jurisdictions sanctuaries for the Second Amendment right to bear arms, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring issued an advisory opinion declaring these declarations “have no legal effect. Local officials cannot nullify state laws. They must follow the gun laws passed by the General Assembly.” Herring sought to distinguish “this unwarranted usurpation of higher authority” from “the entirely legitimate grants of sanctuary to illegal immigrants by local governments across the nation. The choice of where one prefers to live is a fundamental human right that supersedes any laws impeding...

The Suffolk County district attorney’s office announced on Friday that it had brought a sweeping indictment against 96 members and associates of the violent MS-13 street gang that included charges involving seven murder conspiracies. The authorities said it was New York State’s biggest crackdown ever on the group. “The goal of this investigation was to deliver a major blow to the gang’s leadership, operations and recruitment in the our region,” Timothy D. Sini, the district attorney told reporters at a news conference. Among those charged in the sprawling case were nine top leaders of the street gang who were part...

A highly debated bill that would allow undocumented immigrants in New Jersey to get drivers licenses is now one step from becoming law. Hours after hundreds of advocates staged an overnight protest on the Statehouse steps to call on lawmakers to pass the bill, the measures cleared both the state Senate and Assembly, but not without staunch opposition.

Undocumented immigrants officially have the “green light” in New York – they can now apply for a state driver’s license thanks to the Green Light Law. On Monday, the line at the Yonkers DMV wrapped around the block with hundreds of people waiting -- many to obtain their license. People started lining up before 8 a.m. As of 11:30 a.m. many were on line for more than three hours. However, the wait did not end once they entered the DMV, because once inside the building they had to wait another three and a half hours to apply for the driver...

After the second of several challenges failed in court this week, the state of New York will begin offering driver’s licenses to illegal aliens on Monday. This dream of the woke crowd in New York City is being delivered by Governor Andrew Cuomo and a closely divided state legislature in Albany. The potential problems this will cause (and has already caused in other states) are being ignored, as is the majority opinion of the voters. (The Hill) A federal judge on Friday denied a challenge to a law that will allow New York to give driver’s licenses to undocumented...

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency deported more than a quarter of a million illegal aliens from the United States in Fiscal Year 2019, including roughly 5,500 gang members. Between September 2018 and October 2019, ICE agents deported about 267,258 illegal aliens from the U.S. — a more than four percent increase compared to 2018 and a nearly 20 percent increase compared to 2017 deportation levels. This year, about 85,958 of those illegal aliens were deported from the interior of the U.S., while the other more than 181,000 illegal aliens were deported after arriving at the southern border. The...

In a bid for Latino votes, Democratic presidential candidate South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg proposed that "we end the artificial immigration crisis by returning the land stolen from Mexico by US aggression during the mid 1800s. It's unconscionable that the Trump Administration is persecuting Mexicans who are only trying to recover their own stolen property." "If California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas were to be ceded back to Mexico there would be no incentive for Latinos to try to illegally enter the United States," Buttigieg claimed. "And all of the buildings Americans erected on the stolen lands could be...

A Southern California church flipped the lights on its outdoor manger scene Saturday evening to reveal Jesus, Mary and Joseph as border detainees, each figure isolated in its own chain-link cage with a barbed-wire top

As is often the case, there is more to the story than meets the eye. A viral video circulated last week showing an illegal immigrant using a rope ladder to scale a new section of the border wall, with the help of two people on the Mexican side. But on Thursday, Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO) shared a video of a border patrol agent explaining that despite the video making it seem as though the wall doesn't work, it did, thanks to ancillary security features. “Yesterday, a video showing someone illegally crossing into the United States over the new border...

Pope Francis to Jesuits: ‘I Am Shocked’ by Anti-Immigration Narratives in Europe The Holy Father said that migration issues are compounded by a “defensive mindset” that creates a state of fear and makes people believe that “you can only defend yourself by strengthening borders.” Courtney Mares/CNA VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis decried the mistreatment of migrants and said that he is shocked by anti-immigration narratives within Europe during a conversation with Jesuits in Thailand published Thursday. “I must admit that I am shocked by some of the narratives I hear in Europe about borders. Populism is gaining strength,” Pope Francis said...

When my dad served in Congress, I had a couple of opportunities to tour state-run prisons. Both times I went in with the expectation that the nightmarish portrayal of prison life depicted in movies and on TV was surely an exaggeration. Instead, I sadly found that fiction mirrored reality — and frankly I was just relieved to get out of there without getting shanked or worse! So when I began hearing about immigration detention facilities on the news, I imagined those same dreary places I visited, except worse, with barbed wire and chain-link fences locking crying and starving children in...

On August 22, a convoy of blacked-out Suburbans, flanked by police escorts, sped west along Sunset Boulevard and then headed north into the Hollywood Hills. The motorcade finally pulled up to the gated entrance of Beverly Park, an exclusive enclave that is home to an array of famous actors, rockers, and other Los Angeles A-listers. Hillary Clinton's destination that evening was the palatial compound of Univision chairman Haim Saban, a billionaire most famous for creating the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers..... .... Peter Buttigieg, the Mayor of South Bend (a small city in Indiana) is pretending to be a “moderate†Democrat, aiming at attracting away the supporters of Joe Biden worried about his increasingly bizarre behavior.   But his body language betrayed his true radicalism and desire to pander to far left yesterday, appearing with Reverend William Barber at an event sponsored by the Poor People’s Campaign. Ryan Saavedra of the Daily Wire noticed: “Let me ask you a couple quick rapid-fire [questions],†Barber began. “Do you think we need to also stop allowing forces to demonize ‘people who are trying to...

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were able to arrest an illegal alien accused of sexual abuse against children after local police refused to honor an ICE detainer and twice released him from their custody. The Philadelphia Police Department arrested Hector Moran-Espinoza, a Guatemalan national living in the U.S. illegally, on two different occasions on charges relating to the sexual abuse of children. Both times, federal immigration authorities lodged a detainer request for Moran-Espinoza, but both times, Philadelphia Police ignored their requests and released him back into the community ... “We are seeing politicians put their political agendas above the...

For nearly a decade, Diana Ramirez hadn't been able to take a book home from the San Diego Public Library. Her borrowing privileges were suspended, she was told, because of a mere $10 in late fees, an amount that had grown to $30 over the years. Ramirez, who is now 23 and stays in Tijuana with her mother, attends an alternative education program in San Diego that helps students earn high school diplomas. To her, the debt she owed to the library system was an onerous sum. Even worse, it removed a critical resource from her life. "I felt disappointed...

Some good, but still sobering news comes to us from the Philadelphia office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). First the good news. They just arrested Hector Moran-Espinoza, an illegal alien from Guatemala who was wanted on a laundry list of charges, primarily having to do with sexual assaults on minors and trafficking in child pornography. Then there’s the sobering news. The Philadelphia Police Department had already arrested and then released Moran twice this year, despite ICE having filed a detainer for him both times. (ICE.gov) Nov. 27, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested unlawfully present Guatemalan national...

Clark, whose Twitter account has since been deleted, is now entitled to return to the classroom with back pay and employment benefits or district officials can fork over one year’s salary. The teacher was fired in June after seeking assistance from Trump in a barrage of tweets that she said she thought were private messages to the commander-in-chief, Clark later told a district investigator. “Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico,” one message sent on May 17 read. “Carter-Riverside High School has been taken over by them.” In another tweet, Clark said her...
