An ancient cemetery packed with more than 100 tombs and cultural artifacts has been found by archaeologists in China’s Hubei province. Last summer, the Baizhuang Cemetery in the city of Xiangyang was discovered by the Xiangyang Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology during excavations for an infrastructure project, Newsweek reported. There, after cleaning, they found 176 tombs. Two dated to the Han dynasty period (206 BCE to 220 CE), while the rest are pit tombs from the Warring States period (5th century BCE to 221 BCE). After decades of portraying the iconic character, it seems that Harrison Ford’s days as Indiana Jones are over based on a brand-new casting. Of all the characters created by George Lucas, it’s arguable that the most beloved is Indiana Jones. Known for his signature hat, whip, and phobia of snakes, Dr. Jones is the center of arguably the best action-adventure series of all time, which includes Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989), The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), and The Dial of Destiny (2023). While much of...

I know a lot of you are fans of Bethesda and their games which more often than not stick the landing very well. Today they revealed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, their upcoming open-world game. Looks like it's going to be pretty good, better than last year's Indiana Jones movie that's for sure. Looks AMAZING.

If struggling Disney had any hopes of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny breaking even at the box office, those hopes were dashed this weekend, as the fifth and final Harrison Ford swashbuckler fell to second place in the U.S. and Canada after just one week. According to Variety, Patrick Wilson’s fifth installment in the Insidious series knocked Indiana Jones off the top spot with a $32.6 million debut on 3,188 screens. Dial of Destiny earned just $26.5 million on 4,600 screens. Do the math: Indy earned about $5,760 per screen while Insidious: The Red Door did nearly double...

The movie franchise speaks to ethical issues at the very heart of anthropological thinkingPop culture’s most famous archaeologist, Indiana “Indy” Jones, returns to the big screen this summer. In this fifth installment, The Dial of Destiny, Harrison Ford once again stars as the titular character who defined public perceptions of archaeology. Producers have confirmed this will be the final chapter in Indy’s story. It’s also the first and only film in the series not directed by Steven Spielberg, though he remains an executive producer. Now directed by James Mangold, the flick premiered at the Cannes Film Festival with lackluster initial...

I know we're all excited to go see "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," the fifth installment in the 40-year-old franchise and yet another beloved series that Disney is using to push a woke girlboss agenda while trashing and debasing the legacy characters that we all know and love. Oh wait, we're not interested in seeing that? That's right: Throw in those marketing costs and other odds and ends and you're looking at what could be close to a $500 million price tag for this thing. Half a billion dollars. That's a lot of money. For a studio to...

Numbers don't lie, and in this case they paint a very grim picture indeed. With a budget of almost $300 Million that Lucasfilm are prepared to admit to, Indy 5 has a virtually impossible hill to climb at the box office.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is debuting to worse reviews than Indiana Jones and the Kindom of the Crystal This Movie Supersucks. How is it physically and scientifically possible to make a movie worse than Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal This Movie Supersucks? Ooh, I know. Ooh, ooh, I know! You hire Kathleen Kennedy to produce it. Things looked pretty good for Indy 5 when director James Mangold was brought on to bid Indiana Jones a fond farewell. Mangold’s farewell to Wolverine with Logan (2017) is a thing of beauty, my favorite X-Men movie. And...

It took awhile, but the Star Wars prequels are now considered cool. Will Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull get the same critical re-evaluation? It hasn’t happened yet, and maybe it shouldn’t considering the film features a scene where Shia LaBeouf swings through the jungle with a bunch of CGI monkeys, but… what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, the Indiana Jones movie with the aliens. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull writer David Koepp recently appeared on the Script Apart podcast, where he discussed the decision to add extra-terrestrials to the Indy...

The much-hyped “Indiana Jones” sequel’s trouble-plagued production just took a darker turn — as a crew member has reportedly died on location in Morocco. “Indiana Jones 5” camera department pro Nic Cupac was found dead in his hotel room in the city of Fes, Walt Disney Studios confirmed to The Post on Thursday. “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Nic Cupac, an incredibly talented colleague and member of the film community who will be greatly missed,” a rep for the production told The Post. “His sudden passing was not production related. Nic was a grip on...

Harrison Ford hurt himself rehearsing a fight scene in Indiana Jones 5, sources tell Deadline. The extent of his injury wasn’t immediately known, but it involves his shoulder. Director James Mangold will continue to shoot around him while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated. The filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks. Disney has set the Lucasfilm action thriller for a July 29, 2022 release date. Production on Indiana Jones 5 got underway earlier this month in Pinewood and other U.K. locations. Ford stars alongside Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and...

Is it possible that the popular Indiana Jones trilogy is a cleverly-structured, well-thought-out, theologically-astute analogy of the Christian spiritual quest? I do not suggest that it is an allegory, and I realize it is always possible to read too much into popular film and fiction, but might there be more meaning there than meets the eye?

Harrison Ford will be grabbing his whip and ramming on his hat for a fifth "Indiana Jones" movie, Disney has confirmed -- a mere 41 years after the first installment, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," was released. Disney said in a tweet on Friday that the movie would be produced by its production arm Lucasfilm and released in July 2022, and that "Indy himself, Harrison Ford, will be back to continue his iconic character's journey." The entertainment giant also confirmed the news in an investor presentation, saying the movie was currently in "pre-production."

Harrison Ford is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration after once again experiencing an aviation mishap. Last week, the Star Wars actor, 77, was piloting a plane in Los Angeles when he crossed a runway at Hawthorne Airport, despite receiving radio instructions to stay back as another aircraft was landing. Ford released a statement obtained by EW on Wednesday, saying the "runway incursion" was due to his misunderstanding of the orders and that luckily, no one was harmed. "Mr. Ford crossed the airport's only runway in his aircraft after he misheard a radio instruction from ATC. He immediately acknowledged...

Harrison Ford is dipping his toe into political waters, noting in a recent interview that talking about politics has become unavoidable. Days after the 77-year-old actor appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and called President Donald Trump a “son of a b----,” he was asked about his recent forays into talking politics in an interview with CBS News. The star responded by noting that politics has become too divisive and called for a return to “the middle ground.” "I think it's come to the point where we gotta start talking politics," Ford said. "But we gotta talk about it in a...

Harrison Ford isn’t hanging up his fedora anytime soon. The actor, 77, is returning to his Indiana Jones character in an upcoming fifth installment of the film, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed to BBC News while on the BAFTA Awards red carpet on Sunday. “We’re working away, getting the script where we want it to be and then we’ll be ready to go,” Kennedy said. Asked if Ford might reprise his role, Kennedy said he would. “Harrison Ford will be involved, yeah,” she said. “It’s not a reboot; it’s a continuation.” Kennedy added, “He can’t wait.”

The Nazi fascination with fantastical science and the occult has long made for spectacular entertainment. From Indiana Jones trying to save the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant from the Nazis, to comic-book super-soldier serums, to the reoccurring use of supernatural charlatanism to dupe the Germans in Hogan’s Heroes, pop culture has propagated the idea of the Nazis as obsessed with mysticism and mad science. And pop historians have eagerly provided background for these tales. How much of it is true?Quite a lot, it turns out.
