Back when the Verizon iPhone was first announced we assumed that it would easily outsell the HTC Thunderbolt because, well, it's the iPhone. But it looks like we might have been very wrong because according to one analyst the Thunderbolt is beating up the iPhone and taking it's lunch money. Apple sent out invites to a select few media outlets for a press conference scheduled for this coming Friday that’ll begin at 10:00 am PST. The only thing known at this point is the conference will be centered around the iPhone 4. Presumably they’ll be addressing the reception issue caused by the infamous death grip. Apparently a customer brought the phone into the store to try and get help with it, although it’s pretty evident that the phone is unrepairable. It’s the first time our guy has seen this happen (us too), but the brand new iPhone 4 caught on fire while being hooked up to a computer using the Apple USB cable that accompanied the device.
