Authorities have arrested a 19-year-old dual U.S.-Israeli citizen whom they have reason to believe is behind the recent threats on Jewish community centers across the U.S., the Jerusalem Post has learned. A disgraced former reporter was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Friday for several bomb threats to Jewish Community Centers, Jewish schools and Jewish museums around the country. Juan Thompson, 31, was arrested in St. Louis by the FBI for making at least eight bomb threats and the cyberstalking of an ex-girlfriend. Thompson was a former reporter for The Intercept, and was fired after it was discovered that he made up sources and stories, including one about Charleston shooter Dylann Roof. HONOLULU (AP) -- Honolulu's mayor says police are investigating a phone threat that prompted an evacuation of a Jewish preschool. Mayork Kirk Caldwell says police have opened a terroristic threatening investigation into Monday's threat to Temple Emanu-El's preschool. Caldwell notes that Honolulu is one of the most diverse places in the world. He says it's cowardly to scare people and disrupt a preschool. U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz says officials are working with local law enforcement and the FBI to keep Temple Emanu-El safe. He says the community needs to come together to beat back hate and anti-Semitism.

Today on my local ABC news outlet, I heard a story that several of the threats against American Jewish centers were determined to have come from out of the United States, and are believed to be coordinated. I haven't heard anything about this anywhere else. Can anyone confirm it?

Very sad to see this news story about the desecration of a St. Louis Jewish cemetery. This cemetery dates back to 1893 in the St. Louis suburb of University City. Chesed Shel Emeth cemetery vandalized sometime Sunday evening with over 100 headstones being destroyed or damaged.

EW YORK (JTA) – Conservative Rabbi Seymour Rosenbloom has been expelled from the Rabbinical Assembly, the movement’s rabbis’ association, for performing interfaith weddings. An ordained Conservative rabbi for 44 years, Rosenbloom was expelled by unanimous vote last month after a hearing of the R.A.’s Executive Council. Since 1972, the Conservative movement has prohibited its rabbis from officiating at or even attending intermarriages. Rosenbloom told JTA the council offered to retain his membership in exchange for a promise not to perform any more intermarriages. Rosenbloom declined the offer.
